Better than the 94 team that lost to San Fran?

C'mon, Jerry.

Jerry on Joe Horn: 'That's not correct'

Brian Davis E-mail News tips

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones talked with ESPN during the Desperados' playoff game at American Airlines Center and shot down previous reports that the team is looking into Atlanta Falcons receiver Joe Horn.

"Yeah, that's not correct," Jones said. "I haven't expressed any interest there and haven't evaluated him. That's just not correct."

Looks like all that water cooler talk today was just that. The bigger issue still remains, though. The Cowboys will have to get Terry Glenn back in the fold or hope Miles Austin and Sam Hurd can step into the void.

Not that I think the Cowboys are hugely interested, but since he's still officially property of the Atlanta Falcons he still faces the prospect of tampering charges, so of course he's going to deny all interest.

Glad to hear Jerry admit the team were huge underachievers last year. This team should come into this season embarrassed, angry, bitter and with a chip on their shoulder. Enough with the self congratulatory, "Final 8" nonsense. I don't know if we were as good as the 94 team (although, we did have more Pro Bowlers than the 94 team), but we certainly didn't have a 1994 caliber 49ers team to contend with in the NFC last year either (or a 1994 Packers caliber team, for that matter). It was all there for the taking.

No interest in Horn.

just gave interview from Desperado game . says reports untrue.
Also said Cowboys had the best team he ever had that did not win superbowl.
said they are even better this year.
dsaid Adam Jones is a great practice guy and takes care of his body and doesnt have a substance problems and those guys usually do well.

Which, loosely translated in Jerry language means that we will probably see Horn in a Cowboys uniform after all the smoke clears.

Seriously, isn't that the best guarantee that we get a player- when Jerry flatly denies interest in him?

If anyone doubts the phenomenon of "playoff choker' exists in sports, look no further than the Dallas Desperados. Disgusting.

Yeah, Dallas beat New York twice in the regular season and lost to them at home in their first playoff game.

Sound familiar?

Anyone who was even remotely interested in Joe Horn needs to ban themselves.

Yes they are (on paper at least) and only this season will tell if this is correct or not.

The only possible thing you can be basing that on is Pro Bowls... And that's a popularity contest as much as anything.

No way does this team beat the 94 team. No way.

It's a funny argument, because we'll never know. Just an opinion, that's all... I guess it does make fun debate though. It keeps the mind busy until training camp starts :

Wow, I thought I was the only one watching an Arena football on a Friday night. Glad I'm not the only one with no life.

Thank God for this confirmation. As much as I hate Crayton (and anyone who reads this board knows I do), Crayton > Horn.. by a long shot.

that insatiable football craving does weird things to people, especially this time of year

Yeah, it reminds me of the Arena Football commercial they play on the radio about the poisoning from expired milk... it cracks me up.

I still can't bring myself to watch it though, just bores me to death. I'd rather watch Canadian trash football (not that I watch that either ;-)
