JJ will say this and now we will sign him. Lol. SJ will call Elliot in Cabo and talk to him behind his agents back.

And I can be happy for Jaylon but understand the other 3 at the same time. It's a war, a money war. Every player is out to get as much as he can and every owner is trying not to give him that.

The players did not create the market, the owners did. Did they think the checkbooks would fly open and every player wouldn't want some? The salary growth for some positions is outgrowing the cap increase and something has to give. Everybody wants some and the owners have more than any of them.

What recently happened in PIT is happening in DAL now. It's not about how much players at their respective positions are getting on other teams, it's about what players at other positions are getting on their team. That Lawrence contract was the first domino.

I think Zeke and his agent would have had far better results if they had waited 'til next year to make their case for a contract. That issue alone, got them off to a horrendous start, especially when so many others were due theirs as well. Sometimes, the timing of it can affect things in an extremely negative way. That seems to be the case with Ezekiel this year. Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail and they'll work something out. We'll see, in any event.

Only when it’s about scrooging a player out of a well deserved raised.

We hate them any other time.
He has earned a raise? Maybe on the field, but off the field he is an idiot and one major incident from being out of football. Paying a player is about more that job performance. It's also about the risk there is of paying a player with character issues.

Lol. There were plenty of people sticking up for Jerry. As I stated above, most fans are on the side of management when players want new deals. Lawrence had no knuckleheadry about him and even he was branded a bad guy as soon as he wanted a new deal.
That whole holding his shoulder surgery hostage, as a negotiating bargaining chip?,,, as stupendously stupid as it appeared while being viewed from the "fans" perspective?,,, it was a classic ploy ,forever to be found in the fondly remembered halls of the Hilariously Idiotic Angle.

If they want raises based on yearly performances I would be all for it but the owners take risks as well by giving these guys guaranteed money and then the players don’t play up to that standard. What if Jaylon regresses this year? Does Jerry get some of that guaranteed money back?

Zeke had no problem with making 25 mil and being paid as a top RB until this year. He shouldn’t have signed the contract if he didn’t like it. What if he had a bad season or two, would he reimburse Jerry some of that money?

I have to say these 'negotiations' are going better than expected. I thought Jerry would've caved by now.

I am amazed at the posters that do not see the transparency of this. Why do you think the only player that would have a reason to give a team friendly deal was just done? So Booger could use that as ammo against the 3 players he can't get to budge, primarily his holdout player.

He used that to try and turn the fans in his favor and against those greedy players. The whole thing is a set up, a very transparent one including the press conference.

Let me ask you one question. Which players are supposed to give that team friendly deal? How about Lawrence? Oops too late, guess some other player will have to do that because Booger & Son can't negotiate any better. He gets his but they're not supposed to get theirs? Is that how that works? He uses his surgery as leverage but that's OK?

But some are cheering him on just like his fellow owners since he's heading up their side of the CBA and the first round has been fired, those damned greedy players. They should all be giving team friendly deals.

When do we get some fan friendly deals.

Those costs definitely ain't player greed

Yes, Jerry won't pay his stars what they're worth, and will expect them to take deals for the sake of the team, meanwhile he and his sons rake in billions of dollars on the backs of these very players, but sure, it is Dak and Zeke who are the greedy ones

This is exactly the kind of nonsense you hear from people who want to live in a Utopia where everything is fair and everyone has the same thing as everyone else. Whiny socialist garbage that doesn't work in the real world. That's not the way life works. Whether you like it or not, Jerry earned everything he has. Jerry took the risk on a falling football team and used his business acumen to make himself a billionaire. Saying that the players deserve more just because management makes more money is akin to saying we, as the fans, should have free tickets and free swag because without us there would be no football at all.

What makes you think we'll run him like Zeke. Is it not the same old offense I believe
I think if they are back to a pass heavy offense with out the threat of a running game, then they are going to struggle.

Comes down to do you want to see what Dak and his WR corps can do vs 8 man coverage? With a predicable Jason offense? We’ve seen that result for years and it doesn’t end well.

He is a slimeball for telling them like it is?

Jerry has never been cheap with a player. Almost every big name he has resigned when their contract was due and for top money. Zeke, Dak and Cooper have been given offers supposedly putting them top 5 at their positions and have all been offered at least a year earlier than he has to. There is a value to being offered a new deal before it is required. Jaylon understands this and took money now that is a big raise from what he could have got over the next two years. He will also have a chance at a second big deal while he is in his prime. This is kind of what Jerry did for Lael....who got hosed in the draft but Jerry gave him a market value deal as soon as he could. Lael is gonna get paid again by someone.

Dak is gonna get paid just because he is a QB. I personally think there is no way in hell he should be paid the highest QB contract ever. He should get a deal that is around top 5 based on the current market...and there will be future contracts that reset the market.....like Mahomes.

THe RB market is what it is....Zeke can complain that he is the best RB in the market....but he just isn't going to make what QB's make, or even what the top WR's make. THe Bell deal actually was a step back from the Gurley deal, and Zeke isn't a free agent at the earliest for two years. If he gets anywhere near Gurley money he should sign it and be happy. He will be making much more money over the next 2-3 years than he would have otherwise.

Cooper seems willing to roll the dice that he is gonna have a huge year...that is being a river boat gambler. If we have offered him top 5 money, it is almost likely that he can only go down from there. We aren't going to throw the ball enough for him to put up top 2-3 numbers and I think Gallup is going to cut into this overall numbers.
I am no Jones fan, but for the most part, I don't think that the team's recognized stars under his watch can ever complain they got the shaft.

The fact that he is actually taking a tougher line is a good thing.

That might be true about Jerry Jones, but Stephen, not so much.

Maybe they should start their own football teams with all that education and know-how they've developed in the real world.

Jerry basically used that press conference today to give two agents and Zeke the middle finger.
And that is okay as far as I see it.

Let's get real about it.

Jaylon Smith felt it was right to do business.

In all honesty, he worked for it. I can't say it is the same with Prescott, Elliott or Cooper.

Doesn't sound too good for Zeke. I honestly think it will be easier to find a comparable RB than QB or WR.

I was one of a handful sticking up for Jerry yesterday. looks like everybody's on his side now what a difference a signing makes

That's just because you want Zeke out, not because you give a bleep about Jerry.

This press conference was pure gold!!! Would love to have seen Zekes's initial reaction.

Then again Zeke has low self awareness. He probably threw a bottle at the bar tender and is now under investigation. He will Then ask for more money right after coming off suspension. Lol

I love that Jerry is now publicly playing hardball. That comment saying he's earned the right to joke and with Zeke is so great. Zeke thinks he can force the Cowboys hand, and I'm so happy that it doesn't look like that'll happen.

Let's see what happens if we start 0-2 this year. This isn't Jerry's first crusade in hardball.
