Jerry Jones when asked what area he feels the #Cowboys could shore up on the roster after saying he’d be willing to “give up the future” in terms of capital for an impact player:

“Depth of course is a no brainer, but to add power, firepower to it, would be if any place would be to improve our playmaking ability on defense and pressure that quarterback or have an opportunity to do something special. Really, you named it there at linebacker, but I don’t want to isolate. Again, a top pick is expendable this year for me to add to somebody that meaningfully, would be pretty obvious, help us now, and we would have the right kind of spot on our team for it. I’m not just looking for a player, we’re looking for somebody that can add to the mix.”

Don't do these types of moves unless you know there's a decent to good shot of at least making the championship game. The Rams did this with Jerad Verse and some picks for Myles Garret, but the difference is that the Rams have proven they are a contender. The Cowboys have yet to prove this.

Who do you think they might be targeting? Reading his comments the lean seems edge. Thats interesting because we were in on Crosby, but since then we both traded for Gary and drafted Lawrence. However we dont have a true alpha and you can never have enough edge rushers.

I can definitely see (and frankly prefer) Vea as well. We are razor thin at DT, and Williams and Clark might get way to many snaps. Adding Vea makes that a serious crew.

If they give up a first the team will basically be opting out of the draft this year. Already given away a lot of other picks in what should be a strong draft.

And I don’t know I trust Crosby is healthy.

I think it's Crosby, but at a lower offer, hence why it's not done yet. Don't think the Raiders want to throw the towel right at the start of camp, either.

You throw Crosby out there, and as long as his knee is good you got a legit 3 down edge to pair with Gary and your young guys.
If you can go 2 deep on both sides, you can cause havoc.
