Jerry hasn't fielded a Championship in a long time. He should have given up being the face of the franchise a long time ago. But, I'm not sure he isn't a "football guy" at this point. He play college ball at a really high level. He's owned, operated and functioned as a GM (for better or worse) an NFL franchise for over 30 years. He's in the NFL Hall of Fame (for what that's worth).
He may not be good at being a football guy, but Jerry's a football guy.
I'm 100% behind a different leadership approach. 100%. But saying that Jerry isn't a football guy seems to absolve him of any responsibility for his decision making. He IS a football guy and has had way more on the job training than anyone else would ever get. And while he has improved in many areas, he's still an upper lever GM who meddles in player's affairs and undermines his coaches despite seeing it not work for 3 decades.
