Jerry Was not playing!

.......and mayock JUST said as much: the 2nd rounder isn't the big problem: the big problem is our dline and not having ANYONE outside of Dware and Rat to rush the passer: it was a problem the last 5 years and it still is. Franchising Spencer was idiotic: dude is a JAG and nothing more. Hell, I'd take Tony Tolbert in his prime: at least he had a motor and made PLAYS:bang2:

With this move..and Carr...we just bought our D Line and pass Rushers and extra second or 2....so take it for what it's worth

Exactly. We bought the dline another second. Don't under estimate that.

That's not bad company for Claiborne....I am more than happy especially since it cost only a 2nd.

Jerry made a mistake in signing Scandrick to a long term contract. This just compounds the mistake. Given the fact that we suck in rounds 3-7 in the last few years, we gave away our draft for a ******* CB.

And the winner of our nightly Drama Queen award goes too...

Exactly. And besides, how have we fared with 2nd-round picks of late anyway? We got players like Martellus Bennett and Anthony Fasano.

That's the same logic as giving up a 3rd rounder for McKnight.

Exactly. We might have the best CB unit in the NFL.

What does this do? Potentially...

  • It allows Ryan to be very aggressive up front. Our base D is probably 3CB and Sensabaugh.
  • It takes Hatcher from 4 sacks to 6-7 sacks.
  • It takes Spencer from 6 sacks to 9-10 sacks.
  • It brings in more game changing interceptions, maybe turning a few into TDs.
  • It significantly improves our 3rd down defense.
  • Better 3rd down defense results in more snaps on offense.

Additionally, Carr and Claiborne are strong press guys and good at supporting the run.

For what we gave up this was a steal. We could have arguably a top 5 corner to go along with another top 5 corner for years to come. Rob knows what it takes to have a strong d. look at his brother. picking up darrelle revis instantly made that defense top 5
