I'm watching closely, this courting of the wayward tackles.
There's Mr. Winston, of Chiefs and Texans lore. He's.....meh. He's better than Doug Free, let's put it that way.
Then there's big Tyson Clabo. A cap casualty for sure, but why would a Super Bowl contending team allow him to get away this close to the promised land? Again, he's certainly better than Free, and Winston as well, but he comes with a heftier price tag.
Then there's the best available in Brandon Albert, but word is that will take a second-round pick from 2014.
So far, I'm hearing WAY too much happy-talk from Dallas about Doug Free, which is a ploy, I hope, to get him to take a lesser contract to free up money for one of the above three. Free can be a backup for my team any day. Good dude.
But negligence from Senor Jones makes this pill a necessary one to swallow, and the only remedy to make this draft make true sense. If you add two offensive line upgrades and all these new Romo gadgets.....it's tough to argue against that strategy even without the help on the d-line we wanted.
So pick up the phone and get the AMEX card out Jerry. Y'aint done yet.
