Jerry's Actions Do Not Align With "Win Now"

The thing that baffles me the most about Jerry and the win now mentality is the one thing he could do unhindered by salary cap constrictions is hire the coaching that can get it done. Yet he doesn't. Even if you think he has turned a corner by firing JG and hiring MM..... he still has an unproven rookie running the offense.

Cutting Jaylon during the season was an unJerrylike move. I guess we'll find out if that is a sign of a new. less patient and more desperate Jerry in the weeks to come.

I remember years ago we never drafted offensive lineman, then all of a sudden we started to and we looked like geniuses. JJ hasn't quite gotten to that point with the coaching aspect of things, but maybe since he's getting older he is.

We keep hearing from the Owner and General Manager key terms like "the man in the mirror", or "I can change", or "I don't have 30 training camps left", yet we consistently take a conservative approach to team building.

It doesn't align with the "Super Bowl or bust" lip service we keep hearing from this Front Office. If Jerry was truly fearing his own mortality and desperately wanted to ride off into the sunset with another Super Bowl victory, wouldn't all bets be on the table? It seems like we take the same train ride every season. We get to the draft, make a few good picks, sign lowly, aging, or anonymous players in free agency, overpay and extend our own overrated players, hype said players up all training camp, put together a mediocre to above-average product on the field, then have the season end disappointingly. Rinse and repeat every season. Line 'em up and do it again.

Now, we're entering a period of cap hell, with nothing to show for it. And furthermore, there is a large black cloud looming over your HC, the one you were so confident in that you didn't even give anyone else a genuine thought.

When was the last time Jerry made a truly "win now" move, as the operator of this franchise? It seems like every year, numerous impact players become available and it seems like every time, it's the Chiefs, Bucs, Rams, or even Packers making moves to grab them. These are the teams contending. I'm not saying what Jerry is doing is totally wrong per se, but trying to build solely through the draft and developing and (over)paying your own players can be a slow and arduous process. It hardly aligns with "win now."
What drastic actions do you want?.

On paper the roster this year should have been built to win. Bad coaching, Jerry meddling in personnel decisions, and bad QB play doomed it. I can't say I blame Jerry for signing Dak because the alternatives were nonexistent. They have mismanaged some contracts and could afford to sign that difference maker if not for Lawrence, Zeke, and Jaylon's contracts. I think Lawrence actually played very well this year but still can't justify that much of the cap.

Both Jerry and Stephen are unwilling to seriously enter the veteran free agent sweepstakes!

There's a losing price to be paid by attempting to operate in that unsatisfactory environment.

If they simply learned to manage their talent quest by not overpaying talent, they'd do better.

A capable GM could easily resolve many of the problems that Jerry and Stephen encounter!

Win now is going all in, when has he ever done that? I would say there are two teams that have done that recently, LA and TB. I would say LA is the "leave no stone unturned" team. The moves they've made trading for Ramsey, Stafford and Miller and signing Beckham is as win now as a team can get.

And if I am a fan, I'm down with that just as I would have been with the Dream Team. Better than being the Giants 7M over the cap and what to show for it?

The Joneses are all about just enough or a little less. Everything they do is for appearance sake. They like their guys because they're their guys. Not because they're great players. But if they pay them great money, they'll be great players.

We won't win anything with these coaches. We need a whole new staff.

Explain then how it lost by a field goal amount against a team in the AFC and NFC Championship Games...both.

So you must like participation trophies huh ? Losing by just 3 is a badge of honor ? You inadvertently undercut your own point: those teams are in the championship game that we haven’t seen in almost 30 years. They win and we lose at home in the first round.

Remind me? When in the last 25 have they been? Jerry and relatives would have removed themselves from football ops after 5 to 10 years of failure if they wanted to "win now". Not the current quarter century and counting.

The Rams sold the farm to win now and it looks like it's working

How many NFL owners and GM's are really win now? The ones in the past that tried to buy a SB failed so how many are willing to sell out for one chance at the prize?

The Rams might make this work like TB did because they accepted they didn't have the QB so we got to go get the QB. Just like DEN did with Manning.

However, that is going to circle the drain should they lose again to the No Name Niners.

When he traded a first round pick for Amari Cooper.

Jerry is doing what Jerry always does. Promote Jerry. Jerry isn't going to do anything but keep in the news through the Super Bowl. He does it nearly every year. What a Puss......

Jerry and Stevie only care about winning if they can do it on the cheap.

There were only 2 teams in the entire league with a better record than the Cowboys. There was nothing wrong with the team that they built this year. If you don't think they were trying to win, you are just ignorant.

Jerry Jones only aligns with how much money he is going to make. Everything else comes after including winning.
