Tim Williams - Multiple failed drug tests and gun charge - Alabama used him as a situational pass-rusher, and he recorded 10.5 sacks, 12.5 tackles for a loss and 19 tackles in that role

Caroll Phillips - Phillips has first-round talent, but he could fall to the second day of the 2017 NFL Draft because of some serious off-the-field issues. BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1 knows some teams that liked Phillips that now say they wouldn't take him until Day 2 because of those off-the-field issues

Devonte Fields - Ray Rice charges and left TCU for Louisville bc of it. Big 12 Player of the year as a freshman. 10 sacks, 53 tackles, 18.5 tackles for a loss, four passes batted, two forced fumbles and an interception as a freshman.

I hope we stay away, but you know JJ is putting his list together, and the gambler probably has these guys on his radar.

I still can't find what the off field issues are for Phillips. I do know that he's an older prospect (will be 25 when the season starts) that I'm not crazy about.

Does Williams multiple failed tests?

What are Phillips issues?

I'll try to find the thread but I had a discussion with another member about Carroll about a month or so ago. I was intrigued by his athleticism and couldn't find any info re: his "off the field stuff" and according to our fellow member who had knowledge it was supposedly related to getting into a big fight or something (with law enforcement involvement) while he was at CC prior to Illinois. I never could validate the info but have no reason to think otherwise but you would think it'd be a little more readily available.

Thanks!

This year I'd like a draft with no character issues or injuries.... OR TEs IN THE 2nd!

I can't find confirmation of that.

The reports seem to link back to Charlie Campbell at Walter Football. The player was not suspended.

All of the failed drug tests link back to Walter football. But there was weed and a gun in his car.
He would not have gotten off that charge anywhere else except Tuscaloosa.

Big shout out to Brandon Chicken:

"Upon searching the vehicle, one of the officers found the gun and a plastic bag holding marijuana that was in the car's center console.
Dunaway said the marijuana was his and that a friend named "Brandon Chicken" had given him the marijuana.
However, Williams was arrested because of not having a permit for the gun."

You have to commit multiple homicides to get suspended at bama.

Just like you have to commit multiple sexual assaults to get suspended at Tennessee. Oh, wait. That did happen and still no suspensions or arrests. :(
To the contrary, Butch Jones suspends anyone with a whiff of a sexual assault about them, and AJ Johnson was arrested and has been awaiting trial for 2 years.

All big time schools cover up for their players as much as possible.......we all know this, now stop bashing one school more than another. Right now, baylor is king of the hill anyway. Tomorrow it will be a different school, probably Ole Miss.

I'm not just talking about your coach, who allegedly called one of his players a "traitor" for turning on a player who sexually assaulted a woman (I believe the young man who got assaulted by a player then transferred to another school for his own safety). I'm talking about institutional complicity and cover-up from administration to the police to, yes, the coach.
That you would criticize Alabama given what Tennessee is being accused of is laughable.
