Reeves wouldn't have fit in.

I guarantee you this imbecile came and went as he pleased.

I don't know. Jones might have even been a little intimidated by Reeves. Imagine if the Cowboys did turn it around. Who would get that credit? Why the ex-Cowboy great who is well respected. Can't have that.

Jones reminds me of the girls who always choose friends uglier, dumber and fatter than they are. It is good for the ego.

No doubt about it.

Jerry (grinning): "Lace, did you put in your hours this week?"

Lacewell (laughing): "Hell yeah. 18 holes every day."

:laugh2:

Good theory.

Jerry has done dumber (Campo) and fatter (Wade), but the uglier thing is a tall order for him.

Then how do you explain the Parcells hiring? To this day, he gets credit for the talent currently on the team.

5-11

5-11

Jerry got desperate and finally hired a real coach and backed off quite a bit.

Now he's back and in full control again mismanaging on a daily basis.

Just want to give the man the proper credit he so much longs for.

And yeah, those three straight 5-11 seasons were what caused him to bring in Parcells.

Lacewell had too much say so when he was here. Really poor example.

That's the way life works, doesn't it?

Mike Shanahan wasn't given a life-long pass to coach Denver just because he landed the franchise those two Super Bowl wins. No, if you go long enough without producing any results people sour on you. This holds true in football and everywhere else.

That's the boat Jerry is in right now. Clearly, his way worked in the early 90s. He gambled on misfit players, a coach no one thought would work initially and won three Super Bowls doing it his way.

Twelve years after his last Super Bowl, however, "his way" doesn't seem so great any more.

I'll forever be grateful to the man for the Super Bowls he won. I just never thought the first five or so years of his ownership would be the only good ones.

It only worked because Jerry wasn't in full control then and wasn't micromanaging every aspect of the organization. He didn't choose Jimmy's assistants, he didn't make the majority of the personnel decicions.

Jimmy was a good coach and motivator, had a good staff that he was in full control over and he made most of the draft day decisions and trades (with Jerry signing off on them, of course  )

If Jerry was operating then like he is now and like he did in the late '90's and early 2000's then there would've been no success because "his way" doesn't work. Jerry's way of hiring a figurehead as HC and giving him little to no power, and Jerry hiring much of the staff and controlling the personnel has never worked. It'll likely take another streak like the Campo years again before he'll turn to someone like he did with Parcells and give up vast amount of control again. Until then I guess we have to hope the stars align and the players can overcome the obstacles Jerry has put in the way.

Wasting your breath Bach, some of the guys here can't see anything but what they want to see. Jerry Jones is a certified football moron but he still, AMAZINGLY, has his believers.

You're right. But in reality, I doubt most of them even believe half the stuff they post. They just do so because it's the "company line" and it's what "good" fans do. Either that or they are in denial and more clueless than the man they constantly defend.

How is it that if we turned it around that it would be because of 1 person? Was Reeves going to play QB? Run the football? catch the football? Defend the passes?

No, I would guess not. So if he came in, and we did what we should be doing as a team, and someone was giving him all the credit for it they're an idiot anyway.

1 person, being brought in or being cut out from this franchise, WILL NOT change things and suddenly be a cure all magic pill for this team to play up the ability they should be able to.
