If coordinators are safe as reported, what a mess. Here's a breakdown of who/what we have preparing for the 2018 season;

****Head coach whose contract expires after 2019 season (2 years)
**Offensive coordinator whose contract expires after 2019 season ( 2 year )
** Defensive coordinator whose contract expires after 2019 season (2 year)
** Several offensives assist coaching vacancies or need resigning
** couple defensives assist coaching vacancies or need resigning

Read the nuggets above keep one thing in mine, outside of coaching, coaches are NO DIFFERENT from your co-worker or next door neighbor. They want as much security for their family as we do. They wanna know they don't have to worry about moving wife kids after year or two.

With that said, what kind of assist coaches you think our coor(s) and head will attract. Bottom feeders or leftover crumbs. Think about it, you an assist coach part of staff just fired, why would you sign with a team/head coach who can't offer more than a year of security. Do it and there's good chance you sleeping on the couch coz your wife is ticked off. One exception........it's better than standing in the unemployment line. Other words, IF it's all you can get, you take it. So guess what kind of QUALITY assist coaches we are likely left with...........

Let's just hope the lack FULL commitment doesn't trigger down to players and effect 2018.

A bit of a correction: supposedly the two coordinators deals run through 2019 as well, lining up with Garrett’s.

No team turns around because of assistant coaches anyway. We didn't roll out two of the worst performances you'll ever see the last two weeks because we were deficient at inside linebackers or tight ends coach.

This is all window dressing so Jerry can sell something to the fans. Nothing more.

Yeah im worried it will just buy Garrett more time anyways if we blow it up with the coordinators.

only hope is tanking hard enough so that in 2019 the house is cleaned

Either that or JG and company swallow their damn pride, put the big boy pants on, and try to change this offense to make it work for Dak!! I'm not interested in waiting another year of crap even though I know it's inevitable.........

They won't.

They've proven their stubbornness over the years.

They will work harder on teaching technique but it will be the same old same old again next year.

Our only hope is that the players just play great but the coaches will most likely trot out the same gameplan again.

Rather have lost last few games than sacrifice entire 2018 season. And knowing Garrett, the team overachieves in 2018 (weak schedule) and losses another playoff game granting Garrett another extension.

Sick of this roller coaster ride leading to hell.

So we could go 0-16 next year and it won't matter since they are all under contract through 2019. Even then I wouldn't put it past Jerry to extend Garretts deal.

Im sure JGs pitch to jerry would be that if the browns could keep Hue after his 0-16 run they should keep him since he has won coach of the year before!!!

don't expect impossible things.

Most importantly Garrett said we today when asked about the staff. He said WE will determine the changes on the staff.

The WE in that sentence is Jerry and Stephen. And those we are the them that keep hiring coaches that make Jerry comfortable.

I posted yesterday a breakdown of the stafff parcells hired and how in demand or successful they have become compared to the staffs under wade and garrett.

Most under the wade and Garrett category have been in low demand, are about to retire anyway or have worked with Jerry and Stephen before.

It’s painfully obvious and it sucks as a fan knowing the only things that will be done are ones that Jerry is comfortable with.

So get ready for some old assistants who worked here before or are about to retire anyway so they come for one last paycheck.

I had a bad feeling norv turner and his son were going to show up as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach but I am glad linehan is staying.

I think linehan is a good coach, the best one on the staff. I am glad he is staying.

They don't know how or they would have done it

Yep. I watched a couple minutes of the DC.com post game video show with Broaddus and Nate and they both talked about Jerry hiring a few new assistants, how Jerry had to decide who to replace, etc. They don't even try to hide it anymore.

I know they won't either. It will be the same old song and dance and hope is all we will have as always. Boring offense and no speed. Frustrating!

yep. I am trying to think of people who have been here before who will all of a sudden be rehired and sold to fans as top level candidates who they were lucky to get. I thought les miles would somehow be involved. Norv and his son.

the other possibility is Mike Tice in some role. Linehan and Tice worked together in Minnesota. Steve Loney who just retired was the offensive line coach with them in minnesota.

I wouldn't be surprised if the big shakeup Jerry is talking about is Mike Tice taking over for Steve Pollak. Tice and his son being hired as the big addition to the offseason is right out of the Jerry Playbook.

not sure how the scheme on the line works with tice however. there was some talk last year about columbo taking over the offensive line but they stayed with pollak. Pollak being the fall guy would make total sense to me from jerrys perspective.

I sure hope not.

the more I think about it I really think if Tice is available this would be a possibility.
Linehan OC
Wade wilson QB coach
Mike Tice OL
Tice's son TE coach or quality assistant.

WR coach will be someone that has worked with linehan, Tice or Garrett. Charlie baggett coached with linehan and dooley but appears to be retired...but that seems like the kind of nonsense they would pull. He was also with linehan, dooley and garrett in miami under saban.

other coaches who have ties are Bobby Williams who is a special assistant at alabama but was with these guys in miami and could be a wr or rb coach here.

this is depressing so I am going to stop.

All three are probably gone together if no playoffs next season. My guess at what Jerry could be thinking. Who knows.
