Jerry says things will be uncomfortable around Valley Ranch.

The mediots automatically say this proves Jerry is making all the decisions and Red J has been emasculated as the HC. To them, its clear. Its obvious. Even Red J could be fired at any moment.

What if Jason said to Jerry, "I'm gonna make some coaching changes?" "This is what I'm gonna do?" "i see the need to shake things up?"

So, Jerry knows its gonna happen. He knows what Jason is thinking. He knows there will be changes. He makes his "uncomfortable" comment based on what he knows Jason is thinking and what Jason wants to do. Is this such a stretch that the entire band of mediots cant see it? Isnt it a much more likely scenario?

Jerry is simply making a comment based on what he knows Jason is doing - nothing more than that.

You could be right, nobody really knows what's going on.

Do you really think that Jason went to Jerry and said that he was stripping himself of play calling, , and by the way, my brother needs to go as well? Jason came out and said that he would be calling plays. He met with Jerry and all of a sudden he was open to another play caller. These couple of things are just examples, but I think Garrett considers himself lucky that the changes didn't include his firing. If he hadn't went along with Jerry, he would be one of the changes.

= glass half empty.

If we end up in the playoffs against the Giants with 3 seconds left and they're trying a 50-yard field goal, I will have some hope.

I agree. People will spin things to fit their own agenda. I don't know what is taking place at Valley Ranch nor do the critics. I do know that we have hired some good coaches since the season ended and as far as play calling goes again unless players execute the plays coming to the huddle it really means nothing. Garrett and Callahan put together the plan the player must be able to go out do the job. OL was the biggest issue and unless that is addressed who is sending in the plays is not going to matter.

You can't just sit there and believe that if the OL can't block just throw short passes hell the defense will figure that out pretty damn quick. You resolve the problem not try to make up calls to cover up the problem.

Not even the media, yet they jump to the conclusion that know will get everyone riled up so they can sell their product. The days of objective news reporting are long gone.

EDIT: And that product - as inaccurate as it might be - sells because the fan base is often driven by agenda, failing to critically think through the facts to draw their own conclusions, and instead too willing to "eat the cheese", as Parcells used to say.

Bingo! No one outside the organization really knows. When explanations have been made by Jerry and Jason if you've already decided on your interpretation and it doesn't mesh up then you dismiss it as spin. In the end only Jason and Jerry really know how it all went down.

and as a fan all I care about is the end results. If this staff can help lead this team to a championship then how this all went down means little.

How do you know Jerry stripped Jason of playcalling?

Jason actually talked about the playcalling quite a bit yesterday.

What makes you think John Garrett was fired?

Jason addressed that yesterday as well. Maybe you dont like what he said becuz it doesnt fit your agenda.

thats a very creative assumption ....

Imo, we pretty much know that Jerry told Jason, at the end of the season, there needs to be change. The only mandate was Jerry insisting on Jason giving up his playcalling duties. Jason then set about making a switch to the 4-3, and overhauling the coaching staff.

: Yeah, I don't think that we need a Jimmy Johnson, decade-and-a-half later, insider revelation to understand who was originating the changes here, it is self evident. It doesn't logically flow that Jason would make things uncomfortable for himself and his family and then ask Jerry to convey this self-generated discomfort via press release.

Like most things in life, it's probably somewhere between the glass half-empty and half-full point of view.

I think the defensive changes were mostly Garrett and the offensive changes were mostly Jerry.
