I was just thinking about this and thought I'd throw it out there. The uncomfortable angle is the part that got reported the most and noticed by all of us. Was Jerry actually tipping his hand in the interview?

The radio DJ's asked if Rob Ryan's job was safe, and Jerry took offense. He replied that he was not having that meeting with them. First of all, would they have even asked if Ryan's job wasn't questionable? I don't think so. But Jerry hammered "fundamentals" several times and specifically tackling.

So, the obvious question is, was Garrett's job questionable? Look, I'm his biggest fan, but of course it was.

At the end of that interview what did Jerry say about Garrett? He specifically said he was a top guy to build around. I don't have speakers at work or I'd get you the exact wording he used.

The point is, he refused to discuss Ryan, and ended the interview praising Garrett. I can at least provide the link in case anyone is interested.

I heard it and you're right about praising Garret, but he also got on him in respect to the offense. I believe he tipped his hand through the whole interview of where we are headed.

Another 8-8 season and "hope" for the future??

17 years and counting

I don't disagree, and this is why Norv may end up here as the play caller.

One other thing I found interesting was that Garrett fired him over the phone, and that definitely isn't the way Garrett wanted to let RR know. But with RR on holiday, Garrett clearly wanted to get ahold of RR asap.

It could be because Garrett already has someone specific in mind and it will be announced soon, or that Garrett wanted to signal to the NFL that a position was open to get the most qualified person he could (before other teams snapped up the DCs he was most interested in).

Sigh. You're probably right. Continued blind faith in a man that's doing a job he's not qualified for from a man doing a job he's not qualified for. Our future is looking so bright.

Norv would be great for Romo, I would really like this move.

;) No guarantees. That is my thought. I think it could do wonders for Jason.

I can't hear it right now. Can you remind me what he said?

He didn't say anything. That was it. Jerry was congratulating all the players as they came into the locker room area. But didn't acknowledge Ryan. Did the same to Callahan come to that. I thought it was kinda odd at the time.

What I got from the IV, was Jerry yes did talk about fundamentals of tackling, but also said about knowing where to line up (I took this as offense as they suck at it).

The only thing he said about Jason was he a high character guy. He then dissed on his offense for about 3-4 minutes. About how Jason and Romo had been together for 6 years, etc.

The only person I felt was safe out of the IV was Romo. That's why I wouldn't be surprised if JG was canned as well. WHo know's? Jerry changes like the seasons.

I remember that now that you say that. Never considered it.

We lined up several times this year with 10 or 12 players and had 9 once and 13 once.

Mike Fisher was harping on that last night. Hitting it hard in fact.

Right, and the offense was pristine in its organization.

I remember it like Aven8 said -- Jerry didn't compliment much of anything except Tony Romo.

Ahhh...just more of the same. A great organization is dependent on stability. So many coaching changes, yet the unholy trinity stays intact? Hmm.

I really wish you'd get over your tired ****ing agenda to bash me at every turn.

From my OP...

"So, the obvious question is, was Garrett's job questionable? Look, I'm his biggest fan, but of course it was."

Throwing coordinators under the bus is the last line of defense for any head coach to save his job. Garrett's on the last knot of his rope barely hanging on by his fingernails.

Oh, I know....you're right. We also ran out 10 guys or less on ST's 4 times!. Glen "Stretch" went mad about that all year! Is Joe D being held accountable?

I don't think he's safe.
