is only because he didn't see today's performance coming and hasn't had time to make plans to replace Wade. He hasn't been working the shadows for a new coach like when Campo was about to be dumped because he truly thought they would win today and advance at least two games into the playoffs.
He wasn't prepared to say anything but "Wade will be back" at this point, shortly after the end of the game.
My money is on a new HC for next season. Don't have any idea who it will be, but I really don't believe it will be Wade.
Jerry may be a lot of things, but he doesn't want to be embarrassed his first year in his new stadium.

I hope you are right about this, if Wade comes back for 2009 it is going to be a total disaster.

can you imagine how fast next season will go in the tank if Wade is still the HC and we lose our first game of the season?

If he were interested in getting rid of Wade he wouldn't have come out today and so staunchly defended him IMO. He would have gone the "no comment" or "We'll have plenty of time to discuss that over the next few weeks" route.

If Wade does return as the HC, it will be a good barometer of how bad Dallas will be until control is somehow wrested away from Jerry (by his family) in maybe 8 years from now.

And a lot of talented players careers will be squandered in that time.
