It could be that Snyder has the dirt on Jerry and other owners he claims to have and Jerry is afraid he'll reveal it. Or it could be that Jerry doesn't want to set the precedent of the league ousting owners knowing that he and others might not always be safe if that were to become acceptable. Or it could be that Jerry wants to build alliances so other owners will have his back when a time come that he needs it. Or may some combination of these things.

Obviously, I could be wrong, but I doubt it's purely out of his deep affection for Snyder

Jerry may support him but he is no longer a power broker/consensus maker among owners as witnessed by the 31-1 defeat he just suffered over Goodells new contract. So, Jerry's support will not be enough to save Snyder.
31-1 might be a harbinger for Booger that a power shift may be in the works.

His value and power base with the owners is all based on money. They gave him a bust for that but they are all in that “what have you done for me lately” camp.

Some might be interested in his shift for Snyder.

Could be Booger”s sleeping with Snyder’s old lady. Which might be the only thing keeping her attracted to Snyder.

The guy worth 5 billion is not standing in awe of the guy worth 8 Billion. All of these NFL Billionaires live in their own worlds where they are king. What Jerry used to be good at was lobbying them and using his consensus to wield power. Jerry did most of his good in the NFL back in the 90's with those TV deals. He assured owners a profit margin by championing a salary cap and for all his efforts, they gave him a gold jacket.

I think Jerry is now viewed as a dinosaur.

I hate Jerry just as much as the next guy as a GM, but this endless braying about not knowing diddly about football sounds dumb. After 33 years of drafts, meetings with coaches, owners, players, scouts, journalists, etc., press conferences, locker rooms, parades, interviews, etc., etc.—when does “savvy” creep in? Doesn’t ANYTHING ever rub off? When I first started in my business, I didn’t know diddly. Fast forward 35 years, and I’m a successful owner/operator. People learn and grow over time through their experiences. Just sayin’.

The not being a "football guy" really only made sense in the beginning. Few GM's have any more football background and some GM's never even played college football, which Jerry did. They learned and grew into the position over time, albeit starting at lower levels than Jerry.

Jerry not being a "football guy" isn't why he is a bad GM. He's a bad GM because he lets his ego and need for attention get in the way of the job.

Now I can agree with that.

All 32 owners should be ousted, along with Goodhell.

It's time for the fans of this beautiful game to liberate it from those vile, corrupt, greed mongers.

I call upon all fans to launch a popular fanrising and I nominate @CouchCoach to lead Us in Our glorious endeavour.

You guys do realize that the NFL has 32 teams and 32 different owners of those teams. If 31 want to remove Dan S, not much Jerry can do about it. All Jerry can do it support him to remain an owner but he can't force the others to do the same. And the rumor was that Dan S had several owners and the commish investigated and will burn the NFL down if he is forced to sell, so it's not just Jerry that Dan has dirt on.
I believe it only takes 20, maybe?

I like it. The more trash Snyder talks about the NFL, the more attention he will get from Daddy Goodell. Maybe he'll leave us alone and focus on the ol' What'sTheirNames.

As someone on here accurately mentioned the other day, NFL owners are like the mafia. Powerful, exclusive, greedy, secretive, vindictive and petty. Their loyalty to each other is not based on what’s best for the game or its future. It’s based on what’s best for them.

That’s why I side with the players in almost all contract and labor negotiations. The players are gladiators who risk their bodies and physical future and have a very short time to play the game and make the most money in their careers. The owners literally have almost zero risk and can make a fortune year after year forever.
More like Billionaires vs just NFL owners..
ever watch the show,
Billions

its has some truth to the way they it works up there in the top 10%ers

I appreciate your sentiments, mate, and kudos to your instincts, but let us not forget—CC loves to spend long afternoons irresponsibly lounging in luxurious piles of underdressed supermodels, deadening the senses with giant snifters of brandy, as well as psychedelic cigarettes and barbecue pork rinds. Responsible stewardship of gridiron grandeur often takes a focus not often associated with a Delta House type of living standard…
