The reason I was asking is because I’ve had the same reservations about Pickens maturity level. I also remember he quit on a route or 2 last year. But since then, I haven’t heard anything else negative about him showing up late or missing meetings. And as you mentioned how he handled getting tagged and embracing the situation and embracing his teammates.

Yeah. I think Pickens is more like the lovable goofball that still has a little more maturing to do with like day to day responsibility stuff.

But It wasn’t presented as being any type of significant problem or anything. And he gets along well with the coaches and his teammates.

Agreed. But they also chose not to make Milton the backup QB and were willing to risk losing him to another team. However you choose to slice it, a message was sent - he still has a ways to go.

Nothing against Milton at all. But I don’t see how anyone can say this team didn’t send a message to him.

And in a league starved for even decent QB play, not a single other NFL team wanted him? That says something too X.

Exactly.....I don't buy it. They did everything that was asked of them. Only thing I heard was Blue had a problem with a pair of cleats...got a blister on his foot. It happens.

Just as an emergency QB. That would be my best guess. Practice squad players are expendable. If a team tried to poach him off the PS, do you think the Cowboys elevate him to the active roster to protect him? I don't think so. He'd be gone. PS players are just bodies.

I've been of the opinion that doing well in preseason only goes so far. Because you're against backups. But playing poorly can hurt you for the exact same reason. He didn't look like he had any burst. It's odd because he showed some burst on a few carries against the Giants last year.

Blue got the yards blocked for him and no more. And went down any time someone touched him. I saw nothing to indicate NFL player. He just looked slow. Like he doesn't care.
