Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo Still in Play

The breakup buzz keeps getting louder for Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo. But her camp is shooting down the split rumors.
“Not true, not true,” Simpson’s rep tells me. “I spoke to Jess yesterday and the day before. They are still together.”
And while Romo spent the weekend in Chicago, sans Jess, expect a reunion any minute now: The quarterback will be Simpson’s date when little sister Ashlee marries Pete Wentz this weekend, a source tells me.
But what about those photos that hit the Web today of Romo partying in the Windy City with a mystery blonde?
There was no hanky-panky, another source tells me. In fact, the source reports, the young woman has a serious boyfriend: “She’s a doll and they did have fun at the club, but nothing happened with Tony!”

Kristie I think Tony has made it very clear he will not speak about this anytime soon & for once I agree with you that something from Tony would help eleviate this whole mess & media frenzy right now & many could move on & wish them the best or others could continue to bash a couple of great individuals & one that is very misunderstood. Why Tony chooses to not do it is very interesting. If he wants his personal life back & soon then by not commenting he is only prolonging the scrutniy. That of course is my opinion. Does he like it that much is the next question & I am not slamming him for that but he can't play both sides as he is doing. I like Tony a lot but he confuses me also a lot. I think He is one hell of a player & I can't wait for football to get here but if this doesn't get sorted out soon we will still be dealing with a lot of this crap still into the season & that will be even more distracting. Tony I believe has to for all intents & purpose step up & comment here.

Someone who knows them told us they split up two wks ago and it is just now hitting the media. Just like Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford were split for 7 wks before it went to media. Old news but not to Tony since he talks to Carrie all the time.

I agree.

It's like blowing up a balloon, letting it go and watching it fly all over the room.

Looking back, I'm impressed with how Troy Aikman was able to keep his personal life so private. We knew he dated Lorrie Morgan and was close to Sandra Bullock at one time, etc.

But it was nothing like this. Troy reportedly stayed home a lot, so that helped him stay under the radar.

I think Tony has some Dandy Don and Bobby Layne in him.

What should he do , call her a liar? She is the one dragging this out by getting on Extra and saying she wants to get married. How much plainer can he make it when he goes out partying with other women. :bang2:

Romo and Simpson not done?

Reports have circulated far and wide over the past few days that Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson have broken up.

The news has brought a sigh of relief to some Cowboys fans who blame Simpson for the team's downfall last season.

But I wouldn't start ordering those Super Bowl tickets yet. According to a player who is very close to Romo, the celebrity couple remain just that _ a couple.

"No," the Cowboys player replied when asked about a Romo-Simpson breakup. "They are together."

Another player who was on the infamous boat in Cabo last fall added: "I don't think they did."

Take it for what its worth.

Even if they are no longer seeing each other as a couple, I wouldn't be surprised if he has a long-standing commitment to accompany her to her sister's wedding. It would be very embarrassing for her to have to show up there alone.

Her rep has stated he'll be her "date" for that occasion.

Jills are you absolutley positive Tony talks to Carrie all the time? If you are what are chances of Tony being in Vegas this weekend? CMA's are this Sunday. Of course wouldn't see him but would like your opinion on this or if your in the know.

LOS ANGELES — The Internet has been running rampant this week with reports that Jessica Simpson has split from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

While reps for the Texan twosome have been busy denying the split, a source close to the Romo camp has told Pop Tarts that their relationship has hit a "rough patch" and might not be totally over just yet.

After all, he apparently already had plans to get down on one knee for the songstress, and just recently she referred to him as her "future husband" in Glamour magazine.

According to our inside source, Tony was organizing an "intimate dinner for friends and family" to take place in Texas within the next few weeks in anticipation of announcing his engagement to the eldest Simpson sister.

"Every couple has their problems; we're hoping that they'll have a break and work it all out," the source said.

So while Romo’s initial matrimonial plans seem to have been put on the back-burner, the estranged duo apparently still are "talking." Calls to Simpson's rep were not returned.

But what exactly are these "differences"?

Romo, 28, reportedly still has a roommate and loves his freedom, while Jess already has been married and divorced and has made it clear she wants to be a mom soon.

"Jessica has made no secret of the fact she wants to get married, and with all the Ashlee wedding talk and Jess’ dad’s involvement, Tony was obviously feeling it," another source said. "I wouldn’t be surprised if he just couldn’t go through with the proposal and that’s what’s caused the break."

On that note, Pop Tarts has been told that rumors regarding Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz's wedding are true and they are set to tie the knot just outside L.A. this weekend. At this stage we're told that Tony won't be attending.

Well this sounds like some pretty quick PR work for Tony doesn't it?? LOL
Tony has been taking some heat because of speculation he was trashing Jessica & how he broke it off. Now we get oh he was going to get down on one knee & may still there still talking etc. They want people to think oh there working on it they will be ok this will all go away. I think it's going to get a lot hairer before it gets better.
One minute ESN trashes the guy & the next we get some PR for him. I'm not buying this one at all just like any of the other ones.
Jess & Tony should openly speak for themselves but nice try!!
Don't get me wrong as I like both Jessica & Tony but this blog I'm not letting Tony get off the hook by he will get down on one knee crap. lol
