Anyone have knowledge of Jet-Skis? I'm in the market for a new Jet-Ski, but I haven't had one in over a decade. I plan on making the rounds to look at Sea-Doo, Kawasaki and Yamaha models, but would love some input if anyone on here has knowledge. I'm a hopeless beach bum and my wife and kids are finally converting, so it is time to upgrade the experience.

Looking for something that would pull a wake-board as well so I can teach my son. It seems that the low end-models will do that nowadays but I'm not 100% sure. In return for your gracious advice, I will take you out for a day of fun if you manage to swing down to the Corpus Christi/Padre Island area.

Thanks Ladies and Gents!

Ive been riding em for about 10 years now and have had a Polaris, Kawasaki and a Sea-Doo. My current ski is the Sea-Doo RXP-X 255 it is a blast but not made for pulling people.

I would go with Sea-Doo, they make the best skis by far. I would also recommend a 4 stroke (most are now a days anyway) they are more durable, get better mileage and are easier to maintain.

Any of the new skis can pull a wake-board, tube etc.. you just need to make sure it is at least a 3 seater. Have to have room on ski for driver, person to operate flag and person being pulled.

Good luck and have fun.

I'd say this is all good stuff.

One thing I might add is to make sure you get one with a training key. The probably all have them now. Its been a while since I got out on one but my buddy used to have a training key to let the kids use. Pretty much limits the skis speed so the kids don't go overboard at first.

Thanks for the input Dooms and Hoofbite, I will be doing some major shopping this week (have already emailed a Sea Doo dealership today)!

Sea Doo RXP baby.

The RXP is the 2 seater version. The RXT is the 3 seater.

Both will pull your arms out of their sockets. The 2 seater is a tad sportier because it is lighter, and its also a little more nimble too for the same reason. But both machines will flat out blow your mind away.
