Jets/Cowboys will be low scoring ugly game

We have ball hawks who INT or strip or punch the ball out for turnovers, I think Wilson is the type to
give up turnovers. Jets make try to play that short ball, underneath pass game, RB screens, draw play to
keep themselves close in the game.

- Plus we have special teams capability to spring big plays there too in Turpin returns ..or a block punt or FG.
We have to be the best in the NFL when it comes to blocking punts and FGs

- The Jets will be depending upon their defense to bail them out. Keep game close, come up with Cowboys turnover
mistakes.
I do still wonder if Dak is still knocking the non-preseason rust off, ..but now he will have dry, idea playing conditions
that he did not have in NYG game.

- Wouldn't be surprised if the game were a lot closer and low scoring early on, per 1st half, but something
eventually is gonna spring for us in either defense or special teams, or one of our key RB or WR are gonna break
a splash play big to spring the game open ..eventually.

Yup. And it will result in another week of hand-wringing about the offense. Same will happen when we play SF in a couple weeks. And then later in the season the offense will look much better against lesser defenses and people will marvel at how much they've "improved."

It could well be A trap game ... Without Rodgers, without the extra motive and playing a backup QB
we could let up and play down to a Zach Wilson level.

Remember last year when backup QBs like Sam Howell and Gardner Minshew were doing a number on
us, and were either upsetting us for a shocking loss,... or keeping their team in it very close and down to a hail mary
in the last few seconds of a game ?

Didn't backup Minshew have 355 passing yards and help Eagles put up like 34 points on us ?

Last year's team also opened up at home and laid an egg, getting pushed around in the process. I don't see much similarity between last year's opening team and the team that opened up 2023.

Two great defensive teams. I just don’t see a lot of points in this one.

I believe the Cowboys having to train and practice against the NFL's best Defense is going to help our Offense figure out the Jets D and dissect them up for big points.

The Jets will try and pound us on the ground. The Giants were having success early, but had to abandon it. Stopping the run is the one area of our defense I’m still not sold on.

You can bet the Jets will be looking at how the Giants marched downfield in that 1st series with their running game. But I think our offense will have their heads on a little straighter than they did at the Giants. MM has his chance to show us his offense Sunday, and our TEs will have their act together this week.

Absolutely. Remember the Jets back around 2010? Mark Sanchez led them to two straight AFC title games if I'm not mistaken. One of those years they got there by beating the Patriots and Colts led by Brady and Manning.

They did this with a strong defense and a strong run game. Sanchez wasn't asked to do much. But since their run game was so good, anytime he threw the ball it was against heavy sell out run defenses. No picks and 4 TDs in the wins. This is the gameplan I think the Jets are going to hit us with. I don't think it's going to work, but it can be pretty annoying if it has any success.

Wilson IMO was not as good as Sanchez. That's very insulting to Wilson, I know. But if he has any chance at success through the air, it's because Dallas has no choice but to sell out to stop the run.
