If you look at the coaches tracker on nfl.com, the other teams with HC vacancies have long lists of well known candidates scheduled for interview etc.

We've got 4 - Salah, who failed at the Jets and 3 from Jerry's nepo tree.

Bears and Jets get the consensus top two candidates and Cowboys didn’t even get an interview. Epic failure again.

I thought they would be interviewed, so whoever said they would not, you apparently were right. It may not be that Jerry wants Schotty. It may be that's all he can get. Other coaches may have taken note of our team's free agent philosophy and decided they want no part of that.

The Jets might have a bad front office, but at least they go for it, trading for Aaron Rodgers in 2023 and then Davante Adams last year before the trade deadline. If I'm a coach, that October trade looks a lot better than ours for Jonathan Mingo.
