Jets - Patriots...NFL Network *Merge*

What I love about the Patriots losing is that before the game Collinsworth said something about "If the Patriots win tonight" and Deion cut him off and stated matter of factly that they would win tonight and they went out and didn't get the job done.

I don't know why but Deion is just one of those guys that I really enjoy it when he makes those types of statements and they turn out dead wrong.

Great adjustments for the Pats at halftime mostly- but they still left keller alone too much. Little Bill has not built as good a staff for his last few years as he did the first 3-4. More and more we see the kind of mistakes in coaching we did not see 3-4 years ago.

I dunno, I think any NFL coaching staff that is getting a 400 yard, 3 TD passing performance from a QB who hasn't been a starter since high school is doing a pretty good job coaching. This probably has been one of Belichick's finest coaching seasons. It's clear the talent of the 53 man roster has been depleated. The Patriots have been on top a long time. The 6 seasons in between the Superbowl win in 2001 and last year's Superbowl appearance is an enternity in today's NFL. The league is specifically structured to ensure no one stays King of the Hill for long. We're seeing it with the Colts this year too.

Good observation.

Good coaching overcomes the injury bug.

It can, but there are some circumstances under which no amount of coaching skill is going to make a difference.

Like, having Brad Johnson playing quarterback for your team... or something crazy like that.

I would argue that the Pats did more with less the first staff that Little Bill assembled. Since that staff left after the 2004 season, they have actually gotten by many accounts more talented but have not won the big one since and only have gotten there once.
