Theres a far better chance for Barber. Especially if he goes back to his role of split carries.

Barber looked like a monster until he hurt his thigh this year. Dont forget he was running about 30 yards downfield when he hurt it.

Felix has took over though and its his time to get Julius Jones type PT. He will be the feature back next season.

If only the Colts hadn't pulled their starters. :banghead:

Never willing to give credit.

Still looking back at the Jets regular season.

And ignoring their playoff run with two road wins with a rookie QB.

You really are a 'Wade Guy'.

:laugh2:

Only you would associate what I said with Wade Phillips. That's really weird and makes zero sense.

I will admit that I don't care about the Jets, though. They are just another AFC team to me.

LT. 3.3 yards a carry
Barber 4.4

Yep, Barber > LT.

My breakdown aka the r2a breakdown aka the breakdown that makes sense;
Felix>Green, Choice=Washington, Barber>LT
read the rest. both will be third string next year. ypc isnt gonna determine if they are successful in their roles next year, here is the stat that will

TDs
barber-7
LT-12
yeah LT>barber

btw washington is the quick shifty back like felix, green is the between the tackles vision runner like choice. your break down doesnt compare like athletes.

I find yours and dcfanatic's feud really amusing. Big fan here. Just wanted to let you guys know.

shocking someone is arguing that Barber isn't good, because ya know when a back is asked to run short yardage all the time and his average is still 4.4 plus he had a nagging injury must mean he sucks; Barber is a great back, Barber is not done.

i agree on all accounts but i still think the measure of success for what their respective roles will be is TDs and the past 2 seasons for barber(his worst) has been 7 while LT the past 2(also his worst) has been 11 and 12.

neither will be asked to average 5 ypc or 1000 yards, its gonna be getting short first downs and TDs

never said barber isnt good? also never said he was done? he wasnt asked to run short yardage he was the starter so your off base. he will, however(most likely), be asked to be the short yardage back this year.

this thread is about our RBs vs. theirs and when your comparing what each will be asked to do for their team this year MB and LT will have the most in common and even 3.3 ypc LT(he also had a nagging injury this year) finds the endzone better than barber.

We have the better backs however, they use their backs better. Garrett passes the ball too much!

Yeah I'm sure the Jets running the ball alot last year had absolutely nothing to do with the fact they had a great OL and were QB'd (and alot of times handicapped) by a rookie QB who was clueless in alot of games.

Barber is familiar with the role of splitting carries and being used in short yardage and 3rd downs. LT is used to being an every down back. He is used to getting in a rhythm by getting a lot of carries. LT will have to make adjustments to his game, which may or may not work.

I like our trio a bit better here. The Jets might wind up with the better trio if LT is able to stay healthy and get a little bit of his form back in a nice compliment to Washington and Greene but at this point I'd take our trio.

Thanks -- I guess -- but I didn't even know we had a feud going. Maybe he has one with me. ;)

My comment was more about how much parity there is in the league and how the tiniest things can give a team momentum to win a few games that they otherwise wouldn't have. If the Colts finish off the Jets like they could have, no one considers them a new league juggernaut or particularly cares about what moves they make.

And to the thread topic... Felix is far better than anyone they have. :)

true but i can just imagine LT coming in completly fresh with 5 min in the 4th and breaking off chunks...but he could get injured if he doesnt stay warm.

It is not just about being fresh. It is a different mental approach. In baseball some guys are meant to be starting pitchers, some guys are meant to be relief pitchers and some are meant to be closers. Sometimes it is very hard to change roles. Barber may struggle going back into a back up role, but at least he has been there and done it at a high level. LT has been the man and it will be a tough adjustment. Pride can be a good thing and it can also be a hindrance. We shall see if LT's pride helps or hurts him and I am a big LT fan.

Just because you run the ball a lot, it doesn't mean you're better at it. The Jets were pretty good at running the ball last season, but we (and several other teams) were better.

And personally, I'd take our third-best running back over any of the Jets' running backs.
