Report: Jets agree to terms with OLB Pace
The Jets strike again.
Spending money at an head-spinning rate, the Jets have agreed to terms with former Cards OLB Calvin Pace, according to ESPN.com. Pace, also courted by the Dolphins, will receive $22 million in guarantees - an exhorbitant amount for a player with only 1 1/2 seasons of starting experience.
The Jets outbid Bill Parcells in Miami.
GM Mike Tannenbaum isn’t done, either. Sources say they’re close to signing former Lions RT Damien Woody to a multi-year deal that will average about $5 million per year.
What has gotten into Woody Johnson? He must be blue with envy after having seen the cross-town rival Giants celebrate a Super Bowl championship.
