Twitter: Jets sign Greg Zuerlein

I’m sure he will be perfect lol

He could certainly be better since he's a year removed from back surgery. However, he's had two of them over the last few years, so I'd rather move on. The only trouble is I'm not sure we'll address it well enough to be much better than we were. I supposed I have to give Fassel/the pro scouts credit, though, for us bringing in Anger when Niswander had looked like the previous year that he could be the punter going forward. Maybe Chris Naggar can get the job done, but the cautious side of me hopes they bring in some competition at least.

Zuerlein in 2023

5-6 from 59-65 yards out

18-44 for extra point tries

I know that you are joking, but Zuerlein has been so bad from 50 out the last couple of years that I think that part of his game is permanently gone. Wouldn't surprise me, though, if he only misses one from inside the 50 ... along with a couple of extra points.

Carazy when you even try and evaluate the top kickers in this league when you look at who is doing what.
Kickers are a dime a dozen with your best in league current being
Folk
Tucker
Gay
McPherson
Who cares about kickers?

Remember Zuerlein last December at Giants Stadium? 0/3 extra points. He better get used to the wind in that stadium real quick.

Teams that like to win close games. If we could find another Folk in the sixth round, I'd take that in a minute. He was quite good for us the first couple of years before a hip injury for which he had surgery. It's amazing at this point of his career that he could have the kind of year that he did last year. He had been so bad that he was playing for the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance Football League before it folded and he signed with New England.

as will 99% of the NFL kickers..way to out yourself out there!

Zuerlein was 5 of 14 from 50-plus the last two years. That's a percentage that doesn't even make it worthwhile to attempt those kicks. There was a 1-in-3 chance that he would make one. It doesn't take much research to see that most NFL kickers were better than that.

He missed a lot of x points and some 30-40 yd chippees, but always seemed to make the clutch kicks at the end of the game.

who is the the kicker on the roster right now. i guess one of those fifth round picks can be used on a kicker.
