So Kris Jenkins is out for the season again. Apparently this happened last year when he went down:

When Jenkins went down last season in Week 6, general manager Mike Tannenbaum tried to trade for Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Jay Ratliff. He ended up standing pat, which worked out nicely. Even without their massive run-stuffer in the middle, the Jets still finished No. 1 in total defense.

Has anyone heard that before?

sure, you give us five first round picks and three second round picks, then you have a deal, otherwise, get lost!!!!!!!!!

tried to trade for Ratliff =

Tannenbaum: What you want for Rat, Jerry?
Jerry: Um, smack, ah....*click*

Tannenbaum wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't at least called the Cowboys to see if they were interested in moving him.

What's the worst that can happen ? That the Cowboys say he's not available ? But what about, if by any miracle, the Cowboys WERE interested ? How much of a genius he would look like then ?

Big trades don't happen all of the sudden. They ALL start with a phone call from a curioused, if not interested, party.

There's nothing wrong with that.

So your saying it's kinda like asking a girl out on a date? :p:

"He ended up standing pat."

Umm... more likely scenario was the Cowboys said "Heck no."

Why credit Tannenbaum like it was a good move to stand pat when he probably was just flat out refused?
