Keep in mind they traded away his best playersThat's why I'm not sold on Aaron Glenn as a great DC candidate. Even those Lions defenses were just okay and nothing special. I'm not sure if the Jets will fire him anyway but if they do...pass!
Coordinators often lose a lot of control when they become HC’s. Brian Billick, orchestrator of one of the greatest offenses in NFL history, won a SB with a terrible offense. Nick Sirianni, offensive coordinator for Phillip Rivers and Andrew Luck, is now known as the HC of a defensive team who runs a lot. Sean Payton, offensive guru, now runs the best defense in football with a suspect offense. Dan Quinn in Atlanta, all offense. Mike Zimmer in Minnesota, defenses deteriorated and they became the team that needed to outscore everyone. That's why I'm not sold on Aaron Glenn as a great DC candidate. Glenn has made some really bad in game decisions this year.Coordinators often lose a lot of control when they become HC’s. Some coaches stay entrenched in their side of the ball like Shanahan or Belichick, and some become more CEO types. I don’t think Aaron Glenn’s HC stint says anything about his DC abilities
