ES is in meltdown mode because of it. I don't really get it either. What do they really expect? How many big name coaches are going to go to that rathole of an NFL team? They are 20 million over the cap, they have very little talent, they are one of the oldest teams in the league. They're 3rd string qb outplayed thier franchise quarterback by leaps and bounds.
And to top it off, their owner is a fly by the seat of his pants, hire and fire on a whim, and is very impatient. Just who in the world do you think is lining up for this job?
Steve Spagnola didn't even want it. Here is a D coordinator who people haven't exactly been beating down his door to hire, but because of the superbowl, his stock is higher than it ever has been, and even he doesn't want the skins job. Gee does this tell you anything???? A blind man could see it.
I would say Fassel is looking pretty good to me if I were a foreskin fan. He's got experience, even took a team to the SB. Lets be honest here, Gibbs was a total failure. In 4 years he took a team to a below .500 record, but even worse than that is his total lack of caring about the future of the organization. Say what you want about Parcells, but he never left a team in worse shape then when he got here. When he left Dallas, we had a pretty damn good team. Now look at the skins. Traded away half thier picks the last 4 years, gave monster contracts to idiots like Carter, Lloyd, Archuleta, and Randle El. All this and 20 million over the cap too???? Are you kidding me?
If his name wasn't Gibbs, they'd be saying he was the worst coach in skins history.
Like I said earlier.....Fassel would be looking pretty good to me right about now.
