Wow great deal for the niners. IMO.

Surprising considering that Brady is so old. I thought the pats would want to keep jimmy for when Brady retires.

they can't afford two big money QB's and pretty sure this is the year they have to pay Garropolo or let him go.

What's it going to be then, eh?

IF true I would have expected the Pats to get more for him. Who is their 3rd string QB? It was Brissett but they traded him to the Colts.
The Patriots don't even have another QB on the 53 or the practice squad.

Perhaps I laugh at 2nd round picks because I have seen enough blown on injured players and projects, but if Garoppolo is a solid starter a 2nd round pick is highway robbery.

Not much indication Brady is retiring anytime soon and Garoppolo is in the final year of his deal (and franchising a backup isn't a terribly viable option)

Basically 1st pick of 2nd round. Surprised he went so cheap when Brown went after him hard before last draft.
If he is any good, it won't be the first pick of the second round. He should be able to squeeze out a couple W's....

Tough to call it highway robbery when he is 8 game (plus playoffs) away from being a free agent. Well, SF of course has the option to franchise him but NE didn't.
