When you've been a fan for almost 62 years, you can ***** now and then. Your post would have been far more influential without the *****y last paragraph
Or one can just come clean on real issue and as well as bragging about crying in one's beer, meant for celebration.

This would be cool if Jimmy himself didn't contradict you.

He has stated plenty of times he needed new challenges and got bored easily.
He was angling for the Dolphins job 3 years into Hurricanes coach which is why Don Shula hated his guts.
He had no desire to be outside of Florida and was burned out in Dallas.
He literally tells the world this and dummies ignore it to put blame elsewhere.
He fully admits he couldn't afford to quit so had to get fired in Dallas but was dead set on getting to the Florida Keys.

Jimmy took a bad Dolphins job over a good Jacksonville job because he was so determined to live in the Keys. --which he has done for the rest of his life.

Jerry has been a doddering fool in many of his decisions as owner. Lacewell, Campo; you name the call and there are 100s but he isn't to blame for Jimmy leaving Dallas.
If anything, he was hurt Jimmy wanted out so badly when this was still an obvious dynasty at the time.
Wildcatter to GM required NFL legs...and those have now be paid for and are in use, right now.

It's fully on the team, now, not preferred fan memories by some. Bottom line in the Middle East...terrorists.

Jimmy was undoubtedly great but part of why the U waited 25 years to induct him in the ROH is he was only there 5 years. Same issue in Dallas IMO.
While I agree with your statement I disagree with the premise. Take a guy like Jason Witten. Great player, great longevity never accomplished anything. I barely miss him. Jimmy is a god. I miss him every single day.

Sorry, Amigo, but I have no idea what you are saying/insinuating.

Let me speak slower:
I... Long time, diehard fan... pissed.

Thanks and mea culpa, I was looking at a dated link.
Schnell I understand, Erickson, I do not.
He won with Jimmy's players same as Switzer did in Dallas.

I can't think of any current HC candidate I'd put in any college or NFL ROH based upon 5 years' service. Maybe Kalen DeBoer if he keeps it up 3 more years??
IDK with these schools having 100 years of history it just seems impossible to tie them to a 5-year run and say that's so great you get permanent honors.

For Dallas, Landry set a bar so high that I think anyone needs a SB and at least 5 playoff seasons to crack the Coaching honor club. Jimmy only guided us to the playoffs 3 times.

It's time for Jerry to put Jimmy in the Ring of Honor before it's too late for both of them. Time waits for no one, and for Jerry to continue to let his ego prevent this from happening as they enter their 80's is beyond sad.

Coach Landry took 13 years to win his first SB. Coach Johnson did it in four seasons. And, he was the first coach to win a college national championship and a SB. Certainly you can see just how special he was and how important he was to Dallas' success?

What kind of ego would you consider Jones has? I ask because most ego-driven people would have put Johnson in the Ring years ago. The Hatfields and McCoys would have put Johnson in the Ring years ago, so it is not solely a matter of personal resentment either.

Of course, humanity has witnessed egos that remained stubborn until the last breath. Just saying.
