I know it's just preseason. And winning or losing has nothing to do with it. It's about evaluating individual players. Where was the enthusiasm. I want to come out of the gate the first game of the season like it's still not preseason. I forget the exact quote, laziness makes cowards of us. The revolving door . How many remember that . red zone offense was horrible last season. So let's go down the field in preseason . and just kick a field goal . and get out of there. Yeah why should we show the opposing team's what we have. Is it because we just don't have anything. Practice it, live it, same old coaching that's what it looked like to me.

I think you are expecting too much out of a preseason game.

these players are grown *** men. Having a coach that jumps up and down with emotion over the 1st possession of the 1st preseason game is just asking to lose the respect of the players.

You're going to an extreme. I'm talking about just overall attitude in general it wasn't there

It wasn’t “laziness makes cowards of us all”. It was “fatigue makes cowards of us all”.

He was talking about not being in good enough shape and getting exhausted by the 4th quarter of games.

Thank you, I've been training over 40 years. The 49ers should have been up 21 nothing. We looked so horrible. What do you think Jimmy would have done after the game. Laziness and being in shape are one in the same I just forgot the exact quote. I thought I made that clear.

Do I expect to come out and look like Super Bowl champs of course not. Do I expect people to be jumping up and down. Of course not. I did expect these players to act like football players professionals and it wasn't everyone.. I thought it was an embarrassing first showing. It was most of our starters against their second team . Okay it was the first preseason game. Hope you are satisfied well good for you people. Yeah probably just too long of an offseason LOL go Cowboys . When some people come out and say Cooper Rush look better than Prescott. That should tell you everything

Back when salary cap didn't matter. Completely different in today's game. Risking your guys who take up a lot of salary cap in meaningless games is not worth it in todays salary cap era.

Nothing worse than an NFL preseason. They need it to evaluate talent. But it's bad for fans to watch.

I understand that point. I guess I'm just frustrated too long of an offseason. And I know the potential this team has I just don't want to come out and lose the first game because we're still in pre-season mode. Now's the Time to fix it not the last preseason game

Just frustration moderators you can cancel this if you like. Not sure how to achieve that

Jimmy would probably cut Powell and White.

If he was the coach of the 49’ers, he probably would cut half the team because they almost had 20 penalties. A gross display of a lack of discipline like that would have made him explode.

I saw at least five teams that could start the season tomorrow. And then I watch the Cowboys 49ers, my cowboy brother and I was just disappointed. It's been too long of an offseason my own expectations were too high.

I said it in another thread.

This is a Garrett trade mark. The preseason is to get the team ready for the regular season. Not just four games to get through as safely as possible to get to the regular.

It’s practice. Yes I am taking about practice.

I’m sorry Garrett isn’t a good coach. Slightly below average at best.

I could take or leave Jason Garrett. The locker room seems to support him. But I'm losing interest real fast

Yeah I know it's me I just figured there are a lot of other people then expected more than we what we witnessed also hey there was a lot of good things in my opinion also. I forgot his name. Linebacker, and cornerback awuzie a

You shouldn’t be... it is too difficult to tell much from the first of 4 preseason games. Most of the guys in for the whole second half won’t even be on the 53 man roster.

You should look at individuals. Like the fact that two rookies got INT’s. That Wilson caught everything thrown his way. Hat Jelks and Joe Jackson showed some real ability. That Pollard looked good. Those are things you can see in PS. Not the scheme or the team stuff.

I would actually be more upset as a miner fan because they lacked discipline. Way, way too many penalties. Dallas had few and played with more discipline.

There were quite a few players on that field that will not be expected to play starting roles and quite a few more that won't be on the team at all come real gameday.

The challenge for viewers is to watch a preseason game through the coaches' eyes, we don't even know what they're looking at or for but winning the game is secondary to coming out healthy and not have to make personnel adjustments.

They will look at that film and first and foremost consider who that player is playing against and compare what they know of that player playing against their own and more known player in practice. They already know some of the players that are gone and they have to cut down to 53 from 90 on 8/31, they no longer have the cut dates they had in the past so it's one sweep of the scythe for 37 players and some of those guys were in the game last night as sacrificial bodies. They can have 90 on the roster but they already have the 20 they know are not long for the team.

These players do not break or make their chances in preseason games, they're discussed everyday in the coaches meetings with the up or down arrow for the fringe guys and one or two might get a second look off a play but if they're a bubble player, it's who they're going against that matters.

That's not just for the Cowboys, the Niners coaches were in the same situation last night. The best thing they can do is create situations they want to look at for specific players but other than that, come out of a meaningless game without any injuries that add new meaning to the season.

I know I get team-oriented too much during preseason. I know it's about individual evaluation. And we did do well individually. Cornerback awuzie. The young linebacker don't know his name. The rookie running back was okay when he was in there. I thought Cobb made a a nice catch.
