Jimmy has done a lot of self reflection since retiring from coaching. He seems like he has cooled considerably from what he was as the Dallas head coach. I imagine this fuels his comments now.

The big question is, would Jerry Jones get the guest house or the Big Chill?

Jimmy says he wouldn't change a thing: I call BS: If you want swagger and the limelight, you want that 3-peat (or better). The record would still stand today. I believe we would have crushed the Chargers the the SB that year.

What kind of idiot response is this?

You don't care about a story about Jimmy Johnson because of the news channel it was on? (which by the way, he works for FOX)

And people wonder why everyone thinks Cowboys fans are stupid.

Ratings = Murdoch money

"You see, when Jerry was buying the Cowboys, I can remember like it was yesterday. We were in his automobile and he said, ‘Jimmy, you’re in charge of the football, I’m in charge of the money and we’ll make sports history.’ Well, we made sports history. And everything worked fine for a long time and then all of a sudden we started winning and then when we started winning, things changed a little bit. There started to be a little bit of a tension.

"People say, ‘he meddled too much.’ No he didn’t meddle. It’s just that when we started winning, he wanted to be more in the spotlight. I was proud of what we accomplished. Maybe I didn’t want to share it. I take fault in a lot of it. I should’ve shared it more."

NFL legend Jimmy Johnson sheds light on Jerry Jones relationship: 'When we started winning, things changed' | Fox News
When Jerry pulled that Lombardi out of Jimmys hands at the podium in the last SB victory I knew right then and there that the relationship was over.

Sad truth is that both egos derailed what was going to be the greatest run in NFL history. 4 to 5 straight SB wins in dominating fashion. Might have even been an undefeated season in 94 or 95 if these two knuckleheads could have seen what they had.

Uh, when the owner who just came in from the oil fields wants a seat at a professional coaches table and credit for other peoples ideas....... thats meddling. Jerry wasn't satisfied as being just the owner once the success came. Was Jimmy supposed to give credit where credit was not due? Besides, Its not like any of it was up Jimmy. The media decides where it wants to cast the spotlight and who to recognize.

The break up was on Jerry b/c HE tried to take control of personnel in the infamous contract extension he offered Jimmy after the second super bowl. Was Jimmy supposed to just accept that after building a back to back super bowl champ? Jerry knew what he was doing and did it to force Jimmy out b/c he knew Jimmy would never accept it.
Yep. Just as a big of a farce as when he hired Dan Reeves to work in the front office and immediately had buyers remorse. Remember him telling Reeves he had to punch a time clock and Reeves immediately resigned. What a joke Jerry is as a "football executive ".

Jethro has been trying to prove he’s a football guy ever since Jimmy left. Such a waste of almost 30 years since. Jethro could have been a great owner if he stayed out of football operations.

Jimmy should already be in the ROF, Jerry is a childish, butthurt Primadonna and looks worse with every passing day by holding out. Sadly, if Jerry passes before Jimmy gets in, Stephan will probably draw it out longer trying to uphold daddy's hollow legacy by entering Jerry in the ROH first. There will be statues and all kinds of crap with Jerry in that Circus tent he calls a football stadium. Not that I carry a grudge or anything:angry:

Both men are partially responsible but the lion’s share of it goes to Jerry. You simply don’t say 500 coaches could win with the team that your head coach was primarily responsible for building and turning into repeat champions. It’s really insulting.

Jerry was every bit the part of that Super Bowl. But I don’t know what his issue is and we’re all guessing

The only problem is that Jerry was NOT the football part of that Super Bowl. As he has shown us for the last 26 years. And there is nothing to guess about regarding Jerry’s ego and his need to prove he is the football guy. Failed football Jerry is not going to put himself in a position to be compared the personnel/coach Jimmy. That’s your reason. If that’s a mystery to you, you haven’t been watching closely enough.

It was shared in my opinion. Frankly I think Jimmy would have left regardless, he had never stayed in 1 place long, Jimmy style of coaching takes a lot out of a man and I think being in Florida was something he wanted.
No I don’t buy that, he would not have coached for 20 years but he would have coached more than 5. He got fired/ agreed to leave from a three peat just think about that. He easily wins a couple more. I mean nothing is guaranteed he would need to replenish the talent and teams like GB and Denver were coming on strong.
It is the greatest sliding door moment in league history. What happens if Jimmy stayed with Dallas.

The past 27 years have proven the point. I remember thinking when he hired Parcels that maybe he had finally come to his senses. But, nope! Ran him off too.

Hard to believe it was 30 years ago we were all watching an alltime great Dallas team start to demolish the league in rout to the first of 3 Super Bowl titles in 4 years.

Won't ever be another coach like Jimmy and won't ever be a team as good as those 92-95 Cowboys were.

It's a shame they couldn't have worked together for 10-15 years. We wouldn't have won it all every year but I bet we'd have won 5 or 6 for certain.

Almost certainly make the 4peat.

If he wasn’t part of the Super Bowl. Why is everyone blaming him for the lack of successful at 26 years. Explain that

Jimmy is clearly the bigger and better man. The older Jerry gets the smaller a man he becomes. All I see now when I look at Jerry is a weak old petty pathetic loser. All I see when I look at Jimmy is an absolute Titan.

You’re welcome to your opinion. But I totally disagree that either one is better than the other. Jimmy, has no responsibilities.
