Really wish he was on the Cowboy staff.
I love Jimmy Johnson. And I think he was an outstanding coach.
But that segment was hokie as hell and I didn't come off at all fired up by it. I came out of that laughing at him because I doubt, at all, that's how the pep talks actually sounded. It sounded very rehearsed and fake (Which what could one expect from a pre-game show set up anyway) and just seemed extremely silly to me.
He was an outstanding coach though.

Everything is context.
In the late 80's/very early 90's, the Boys' were pummeled by the Skins, Giants, & Eagles.
In his early tenure in Dallas, Jimmy rallied the troops by partial relying on this type of motivational speech.
NFC East in the early 90's was a brutal division ~ one way to confront the 'bullies' in the division is exactly the way Jimmy professes in the speech.
Super Bowl champs were the Giants (1990) and the Skins (1991), in addition to the intimidation tactics of Buddy Ryan's Eagles ~ all three of those teams were the 'gorilla's' in the division.
Jimmy's coaching philosophy of simultaneously instilling pride in his players and striking fear in them work to perfection.
