I've always had the sense that Jerry considers the HC an extension of himself. He's a vaguely Nixonian figure.Jerry doesn’t think coaching means a thing.
At least Jerry doesn't come down to the sideline to directly interfere during games anymore.
Is anyone here old enough to remember when President Nixon sent in a play for Washington?

Richard Nixon called a play for the Washington Commanders in a 1971 playoff game, which became known as "Nixon's Play":
On the eve of the game, Nixon called Commanders coach George Allen and suggested an end-around play against the San Francisco 49ers. The play was called in a critical second-quarter situation, with the ball on the 49er 8-yard-line. The play lost 13 yards, and the Commanders went on to lose 24-20.
