I can see Dallas coach Bill Parcells saying to himself, "My defense is good enough; so I'm going to just pound the ball." He can be really stubborn. But you could tell he really wanted to get Julius Jones untracked in this ball game.
Rookie runner Marion Barber has been solid, but we all know what Jones can do when he is healthy. He's a slasher, a home-run hitter. He will end up making more big plays than what Barber can deliver right now. The combination of those two runners and Bledsoe being able to open up the offense makes me feel that Dallas will simply get better and better. Their defense has been consistent and solid all year long.
When you have a defense like the Cowboys... even in some of their losses, they played well enough to win. They had two collapses at the end, but that's all — maybe two or three plays in each game. Their defense hasn't been really dominated in any game.
