49ers make things happen just like Jimmy did. The Boldin trade reminds of the Charles Haley trade. We all know how that worked out.

Haley was 28 years old and coming off a Pro-bowl season and was an all-pro the season before that. Boldin is 32 years old and not playing as well as he did a few years ago. I think it is a good trade for the 49ers considering they got it done for a 6th rounder, but it isn't at the level as the Haley trade.

Really surprised it only took a 6th round pick. Cowboys should've traded a 5th round pick for him.. we could use a proven veteran receiver and Boldin's a big time playmaker, even at his age. Step your game up, Jerry.

We already have two proven receivers and don't need a $6M #3 receiver

It is possible that it only took a 6th rounder because of the Harbaugh connection. The Ravens may not have been willing to give a similar deal or even a slightly better deal to other teams.

Boldin is an injury waiting to happen and not the receiver he used to be.

He's like Jay Ratliff. Used to be great, but now more name than substance.

He would've been traded for a 3rd or 4th rounder if his contract wasn't so bad. 49ers gave up the 6th rounder basically to avoid the negotiating process had he been cut. No one was taking on Boldin's contract.

I know what you are trying to say considering he has lost a step but the guy in the playoffs just put up

5 catches for 145 yards and 1 TD
6 catches for 71 yards
5 catches for 60 yards and 2 TDs
6 catches for 104 yards and 1 TD

I wouldn't say that is all "name."

Again, understand the statement because he is 32 and slower but the production still comes with the right QB/

Right now I would trade the whole Cowboy org, including coaching staff and team (less Lee, Harris, DBryant, Bailey and Carter) for Jimmy Johnson to come in as new HC.
OK, I'll wake up.

Jimmy Johnson has been gone for 20 years.

Let it go.

Quit being this guys.

It was probably a 6th round pick because he's due something like $7M. Who else would trade for that? He said he would quit if released by Baltimore so a trade may have been a way for SF to show Bolden they really want him.
