Will Jerry ever consider inducting Jimmy to ROH?
He starts putting in players from the 90's and the SB runs, shouldn't the coach be considered even with only 5 years on the team. I know Tom Landry was not only his coaching genius and legacy and is still considered the best in many Cowboys' fans eyes. And that is why we all know he and Tex Schramm is in. They created the mystique and legacy. So I am just asking the question for other coaches to open a debate.

Right now, I would say no, not to be considered until after JJ is finished with all the players first.

I think it will be a situation similar to Tex and former players. Jimmy does deserve to be in it, in my opinion. Not only his coaching, but Jimmy, not Jerry, assembled that dynasty. The only help he had was from Tex & Landry with some players like Irvin, Nate and Tuey.

I don't think he will or should granted he was a great coach but he wasn't here long enough IMO he built the team and then left. Landry was here for 29 years and when you think of Dallas he's one of the first people you think of Jimmy isn't even on that list IMO more because his last job was as Dolphins HC.

If Jimmy and Jerry could have just gotten along for one more year, Jimmy would have three Super Bowls and there's not a soul in the world who would deny him entrance into the Hall of Fame or Ring of Honor. That was Jimmy's Super Bowl XXX, not Switzer's. I still believe if Jimmy had stayed on board, we would have won at least 4 Super Bowls.

In my opinion, NO, Jimmy Johnson does not go into the ring. Johnson's success in the 90's had more to do with rosters loaded with talent than any kind of superior coaching ability.

The Hershel Walker trade alone netted Emmitt Smith, Kevin Smith, Russell Maryland, and Darren Woodson among many others before it was all said and done. Was Jimmy instrumental in orchestrating the Herschel Walker trade? Possibly. Does he deserve to go into the Ring because of it? Don't think so.

Anyone could have and did win with the players on those 90's Cowboy teams. 2 words: Barry Switzer.

I do like actually like Jimmy, but as the Soup **** would say..."No Ring for you!"

How can you deny him entrance into the Ring of Honor with the rationale that he had too much talent and wasn't a great coach, when he was the mofo who picked all that talent to begin with!:

Exactly.

However I do think it will be Jimmy's 'shortened' tenure here that will ultimately keep him out. You can't possible let somebody into the ROH because they "would have" won another SB if they stayed.

Deion was probably the best CB who will ever play in Dallas - but I doubt many here would want his name on the wall however for the same reason - he just wasn't here long enough.

Oh come on, you don't believe Jimmy was responsible for that do you? Jerry was the GM, he assembled all that talent and he pulled off the trade with Minny. :D
