When deciding whether the extra $2-3M per year is worth it for Demarcus Lawrence...

Shante Carver, Oscar Sturgis, Kavika Pittman, Greg Ellis, Ebenezer Ekuban, Peppi Zellner, Colston Weatherington, Ben Gardner, Randy Gregory, Ryan Russell, Charles Tapper, Taco Charlton, Dorance Armstrong.

These are the 4-3 DE's that Dallas has drafted since 1994 (Excluding 3-4 OLBs, like Demarcus Ware, and 3-4 DE's, like Chris Canty). Terrible.

Actually Crawford was drafted to be a 5 Tech

To be fair, Ellis played pretty well for us.

Ellis was a good player, maybe not a good pick but he played well.

While it was a huge mistake not to draft Moss, Jones wasn't going to draft him even if we didn't draft Ellis. And who we passed on drafting is irrelevant as to how they played anyway.
Why aren't people crying because we passed over Christian Hackenburg? How about Sean Merriman?

Using hindsight to crow about who you'd have taken is weak.

Oh I am not disagreeing with you, I was really just stating that Jones wasn't going to draft Moss no matter what. So therefore it is irrelevant to state that we picked Ellis over him. I agree Ellis was a good player for us, but you said that right before my post. I am not crying that we didn't take Moss, just that I personally believe it is what we should have done.

Moss was a potential problem player, and everyone knew that also.

This is why Jones was never going to draft Moss, especially after all the mid-90s player issues we just went through. Right or wrong.

That’s what kills me when people play the hindsight game. It’s only about the failures. We have been very fortunate with some moves we made. Randy Moss has off the field issues. It wasn’t like we passed him up for a player in a similar situation.
