JJ may not be the best runner

The results did not show up on the stat sheet, but it seems that JJ ran very hard yesterday. At times it seems that he would be much better suited to a Mike Martz type system.

His first cut on that run scared the hell out of me, but he ended up going back, that run got some yardage but he looks awkward or something, I can't place it.

JJ is basically a screen/flats/draw play type of back at this juncture in his career.

Nothing wrong with that. I know at first we saw JJ, and he sort of looked like Emmitt being small and thick, but he's no Emmitt. Barber is the back for this team, if you put Barber in, he will get the offense rolling right from the start.

We continue to have these slow starts on offense, I wonder if starting Barber would change this situation.

I'm glad someone documented JJ making the first tackler miss. Now we can tell our grandkids about the day we witnessed history.

Let's not put that all on Jones. The first drive, Jones had a 6 yard carry, then Romo had two incomplete passes to Owens. Next series, Jones has the 24 yard catch, a couple nice runs, one for a 1st and then in came Barber who had a couple runs and then a -3 reception on 3rd and 5, leading to a FG. Series after that, a couple incompletions by Romo and then Jones gets a carry on 3rd and 18. Series after that, Jones has a couple runs for minimal yards and Barber gets 2 carries at the 2 to get his TD.

So it's not like either back were finding anything until later in the game when the defense was tired and Jones had some nice runs early but was taken out within the 20. You could look no further than slow starts by Romo the last 2 weeks more than anything.

I agree I would rather see Barber come in and pound teams and bring Jones in with his speed.
