It is obvious to most of us who have any interest at all in the Dallas Cowboys & the NFL Draft that the cliche' "Don't believe anything you read, & half of what you hear" is more relavent each day we draw nearer to the lottery.
However, just for a moment, let's just say JJ means what he says about the possibility of moving up to the "wow" players.
This years' draft is pretty good compared to some, and I believe that a real "wow" player can be had in the first round if you've done your homework. A recent article I read mentions JJ feels he would need to get up to the top 10 to get a difference maker. Unfortunately, that would cost us both the 2nd & 3rd rds. of the draft--the entire first day. Unless I'm getting a Calvin Johnson or an Adrian Peterson, that is too high a price for me. However, drop just a few picks lower, and the price goes down to only the 2nd rounder. That I can live with.
According to the Trade Value Chart, if we trade up to the Rams' pick at
#13, the difference between it and #22 is exactly 370 points, or the value of our #53 pick in the second rd. All of a sudden, we're in the land of maybe an Alan Branch, Adam Carriker, Reggie Nelson, or Darrelle Revis. There is also always that one player that drops out of the top 10 to everyone's surprise. Just think, what if, for reasons unknown, LaRon Landry is still waiting for his name to be called, and it's the Dallas Cowboys' turn to pick.
