JJ not excited about the pick... that's a good thing.

Ok. We didn't get great value for the trade. Got that over with.

JJ wasn't excited in the press about the pick.......good. That mean we should be. When he is excited about his sexy picks or feels like he swindled some one for pick we often get in trouble. Think back to Brown's trade or Felix pick....etc.....

No sexy pick will serve this team better. We need players who can do the dirty work. That's where games are won.

I just got done telling a buddy that. It was not a "Jerry Move" with him thinking he had something sexy noone else knew about. It was a guy in the trenches that we all agree needs to be upgraded.

You can only pick one player at a time, so if we go oline there, we still have a need at safety and DT. If we go saftey we still need oline and DT, etc...

Trenches include DL too. Number 7 guy on their board there at 18. Why spend time on a board if you don't follow it. Classic Cowboys. Just horrific.

The pick may not be a Jerry move, but the trade to 31, causing the pick is most definitely a Jerry move. He's got to keep that "Riverboat Gambler Image."

This was definitely not a Jerry type pick.

...and as the OP said: that's a GOOD thing:laugh1: JJ loves flash and dash: WR's, RB's and CB's...that's NOT what we need: here's hoping they keep a leash on him tonight too, because we have some GREAT picks

Anybody who thinks this pick was made without Jones' blessing is an idiot.

this is a major problem for me

they said "character concerns" (talking about Floyd) but i heard rick spielman (GM Vikings) this AM and he said that they vet him thoroughly with their scouts "and there were absolutely no character concerns that came back to us"

idiotic move IMO

just stay put and take floyd

not this idiotic front office

He's not excited about it because about 6 players he wanted more than Frederick were taken between #19-#30 and he had to settle for Plan H.

As long as we're doing something about the trenches I'm ok with the pick.

Is there still good players available at Safety out there ?

JJT's whole predraft column was about getting starters with the first two picks or the draft is a bust.

Well, first pick, starter. Second pick....we'll see.

If you're basing your evaluations based on JJT's logic, something has gone horribly wrong.

teams pass on players for various reasons, you know that

the fact is that based on our own scouts and ranking, he was the highest reated player at 18

let that sink in.... our own rankings after a year of evaluation

so, basically, we trashed a year's worth of evaluation and threw it aside in 5 minutes

that is when idiotic moves get made

you perform the evaluations and set a draft board for a reason

and this was clearly a position we needed

no brainer pick IMO

JJ was on the Fan today saying he was excited about Fredrick. He also said they had Fredrick rated higher then Elam on their board. (I guess he got some heat for passing up Elam, aka Michael Irvin on NFL network).

I couldn't have said it any better myself.

It's why I'm begging to care less and less about this team. Until Jerry is no longer around we're never going to return to glory, and with all of his boys comments as of late it appears as if he's every bit as clueless as his paps is.
