Can't stand the Texans but have the utmost respect for JJ Watts on and off the field.

Yep! He's as good as they come on the field & off the field he's a great ambassador for that team.

Just like Witten & Romo are for the Cowboys.

Funny how some just presume all these guys are scumbags or phony off the field.

Some really are all that.

Championships are won with sleeveless one handed juggs machine at 9pm guys. Grit and motor. No selfies! don't make thing about yourself. And try to find time in your schedule once a day to let a service member cut in front of you in line

I don't even know what this means. I'm betting he's a workout machine with nobody on the team telling him he has to be.

League has enough thugs and scumbag and your right JJ Watts is one of the good guys.

In some sense, I think I understand the original poster's opinion.

But there's a business side to the NFL. JJ Watt is good for the NFL, you could call him a poster boy. Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, etc are different versions of the same story. Little kids aspire to be them. So, the producers of Hard Knocks probably had some influence on selling that to the audience and approached Watt to try and convey that image. It's tacky and artificial in a sense, because it's not scripted per se, but has a sense of fakeness. I get it. It kinda makes you cringe. Kinda reminds me of TO strolling along the beach shirtless. The producers just want to sell something.

Watt from every interaction I've read is the ultimate professional though. He's good to fans, works hard, is a leader on the team. I wouldn't hold it against him too much about the story Hard Knocks is trying to sell.

It's tough to criticize the guy for working so late at night - even if it was a little self promoting for the cameras - when he's only the best defensive player in the NFL.

According to the Top 100 player countdown on NFLN he is the best player in football.

I agree! :p

I saw him in a setting where he did not have to be nice to anyone....he could have asked to be left alone but he was very nice to everyone that approached him..adults and kids....he took pics long after he could have walked away.

Super nice guy! Fan for life!

I was glad Tony faked him out but TO ME he's the best player in the NFL.

Yeah, let's be honest. The guy is great, but wow, was that a staged show from start to finish by Hard Knocks? Let's get JJ Watt doing literally everything we can all day, with barely a teammate in site, and let's record every f-bomb we can get our hands on.

Then again, it is Houston. This is like shooting camp for the Memphis Showboats or something.

Is this one of those times when an attempted character assassination resulted in a flesh wound?

Thing is it is hard knocks, this is why I was glad Dallas was not doing it. There is created situation and drama they want to put out. Cowboys get enough of that without Hard knocks. As or Watts for anyone to judge him based on that show has to be out of their minds.

A lot o f people agreeing with you today.

I guess he put on a cringe worthy performance on hardknocks.

Only if you are a hater.

The guy was working hard and staying late. He signed for every single person that stayed late.

There is absolutely nothing to make fun of him for and some people hate that.

Well they are saying that it was all manufactured for the show and that is why people are making fun of him for it.

This wasn't like a normal day for Watt and that is what Hard Knocks was trying to portray.
