JJT On the Vick Debate

Maybe you have seen the thread about Vick wanting to get a dog.

A debate has been raging on JJT's page for a while now about the issue. At no point has JJT chimed in except for recently after a poster came on and justified what Vick did comparing it to the Humane Society putting down a dog. Stating that the Humane Society puts down way more dogs then Vick and no one is against them.

I thought wow, this guy is not so bright

Enter JJT to give him the high fives and credit for speaking the truth!

I personally don't see what's wrong with Vick getting a dog at this point if it really will help his rehabilitation.

As a dog owner, I'm disgusted by what he did but it's time to move on.

That's not even my problem. My problem is JJT justifying what Vick did by comparing it to the Humane Society and Animal Shelter putting a dog to sleep. I have to seriously question the mental capacity of anyone who draw a comparison to the two.

Most shelters and the Human Society are non profit who take in dogs and try to adopt them to loving homes. These are people who rescue dogs like the one Vick tortured and try to rehabilitate them into society to be adopted.

It's well proven by dog experts that non-kill shelters are actually doing more harm then good for the dogs.

Even so, torturing, hanging, drowning and electrocuting dogs is not a humane way to control the population and to glorify Vick for doing his part to control the population is absurd and ignorant.

Edit: If this is a concern about "warehousing" then the issue is how a no-kill facility is managed and maintained, not that no-kill facilities are inherently bad for dogs or any other animal.

Yes. Killing dogs is equal to molesting children. Try telling that to someone that has actually had their child molested or been molested.

That you equate what happened to them to Vick's abuse of an animal.

He's not comparing the actual acts to each other. He is comparing the idea of giving the offender the object of the offense.
