JJT: Spears To The Bench

Spears might see the bench, but he is going to get plenty of reps.

I agree that this Dline will be treated like the Dline back in the early 90's, with everyone getting reps and it doesn't matter who starts. But I do like Tank getting back to rolling over Olinemen. Spears just needs to keep his head in the game because he will get his reps as well.

Luckily, our defense as a whole is deep this year.

If that happens, then what happens to Hatcher,do you trade him, and hope Dixon come around.
Not sure why you trade him. Having depth along the defensive line, particularly players that can play up and down the line in the 3-4 is a huge bonus. His contract is cheap and this will keep the line fresh throughout the season.

Starter or backup on the D-line, all will see ample playing time just make plays when you are in the game that is all they need to do.

it'll be just like the good ol 90s, our depth in benchwarmers will be so good that they'd be starters on any other team

So will Spears be coming off the bench to relieve?........ Ratliff @ DE? or Tank @ NT ??? or both?

Stupid Title. I'm not a huge fan of Spears, although he pulls his weight verses the run, but with what we're doing defensively for some positions, "starting" is just a word. May the best group win for whomever we play on Sunday.

Well put. Besides the absolute playmakers (Ware, Newman) we're going to be doing ALOT of rotating this year, so I agree. Starting is just a word.
