...Gotta give props to jobberone for his response in a post yesterday when everyone was panicing about Rogers' status. Here it is...

Parcells said part of Rogers previous injury was a labral injury. That's not great news but better than a cuff or biceps injury. My guess is he's had a partial tear of the labrum which they cleaned up (generally from a dislocation or partial one). That's not really bad news unless it was a very large tear or there's some instability of the shoulder. Of course they could have repaired the cuff (to what degree I can't know), cleaned up the biceps tendon, and even taken some bone off the biceps or acromioclavicular joint as well as clean up a labral tear. If it's just another small labral tear or even just some strain then that's only a minor setback. It may be just sore and respond to an injection of the shoulder.

We'll have to wait on the MR and see what it says. They may do some special CT scans as well.

So I'd wait on the tests before getting too gloomy about Rogers.

I have to say jobberone was dead on target with that post. Makes me think he has some expertise in that area.

Wow! Great report Jobberone.....

With that kind of insight you obviously know what you are talking about. It really is amazing the amount and variation of knowledge floating around this board. We have a cap specialist, a players dad, a team friend/insider, a team reporter and now jobberone. He sounds like some kind of medical professional, or at least he has a bum shoulder. Reading this board just gets better and better all the time.

You are right. That's what is great about this board. Yes, you get a lot of disagreements that seem pretty childish at times, but you get some great insight by a lot of posters who bring a lot of knowledge to the issues being discussed. This is my first stop for Cowboy news every day!

When I read that post yesterday before the results were known it gave me hope that he would be ok.

Job is a retired doctor, if I'm not mistaken.

We've got a few medical experts on this board who when get going will have your eyes glazing over. But their knowledge cannot be underrated, by any means. When injuries occur, their knowledge is priceless.

What I would like to know from Jobberone or another doctor, if it is just the labrum that he had surgically repaired. Whats the future prognosis? Is this something that will likely keep getting hurt with physical contact or is it something that can heal and never happen again?

Yes Dr Jobber is a retired Doctor.........and yes 99.9% of his post are right on the money.

ps........jobber you owe me $5.00 (notice no smilie...I'm, serious.)

Eskimo is another poster who works in the medical field and has been right time and again..and can bring the lingo down to layman's terms so it's understandable.

Sometimes I hate the prognosis, and even the explanation of the diagnosis. And sometime these posters take too much flack for their forth right discussions..some of us just don't wanna hear it.

Like last year, with Woody..the board medicos were SO ahead of the printed reports, even going so far as to explain what the post operative setback was all about.

But they were right...because they have seen these injuries before, many times.

And even if they're not 100 percent on (not having the op to examine the player themselves) they still do a great job on informing the board about the diagnosis.

Man, you guys rock. Can anyone help me figure out why my AC kicks off in my car? Freakin' hot in here!!!
