On his contract deal and holding out..

Jerry should have moved heaven and earth to get this guy. I have been a cinci fan the last years because of him and will continue to root for them. Now that my Tom Tom has retired, all allegiance has been moved to cinci.

When Zack Taylor was asked about Herbert's new contract and how if effects Joe.
he said it doesn't effect practice or something like that. Basically saying why should they care, it has nothing to do with Joe or the team.

I don't think any team could have made a move to get Joe. The Bengals knew he was their pick and in no way was going to trade out of that position to get him.

Just like when troy Aikman came out. There were some analysts said that Dallas should take Tony Mandarich over Troy, as they needed OL help and still had a decent QB at the time.
Jerry and Jimmy knew, no freaking way they were not going to pick Troy, nor trade that pick.

Did Dak hold out at some point and I missed it

Everyone knows Burrow will get his new contract, so why would he consider holding out or complaining about it at this point? Dallas would not have been able to afford what it would have cost to move up in the 2020 draft to get him and still be able to put a team around him, so I see no reasonable expectation that Jerry should have moved heaven and earth to get him.

The Cowboys have as good a chance as the Bengals if not better.

The Cowboys have as good a chance as the Bengals do if not better.
 
But But Bit we have the great Cooper Rush on the roster........Cincy will rue the day not selecting Cooper Rush!!

Just making a point that the real Franchise QB is out there and we are make believing with Dak. For 8 years now. About to make it 13

I don't think Schramm and Landry had any intention of trading away that pick, either, before that decision was ultimately given to Jones and Johnson.

He won't absolutely max out what he can get, but he's still going to set the market

If he can get 66mil/yr, maybe he'll "only" take 60....and leave 30 mil "extra" over 5 years for other players.
