Horn started 12 games for the Falcons last season, catching 27 passes for 243 yards and one touchdown. Yeah! Now that's the answer to our "young WRs" problem

Horn would be just a stop-gap and a wasted roster spot. If we're bringing in a vet, it needs to be someone young with speed and/or could replace TO when he's finished. Compared to Horn, I'd much rather have Austin or Hurd. At least they're cheap, follow the company line, and could possibly develop into decent receivers.

I imagine they know all they need to know about him. They could just talk with Sean with the Saints.

Jerry can also call up Bobby Petrino at Arkansas.

Your right, they should talk to Sean.

They should ask him:

Why was your offense so bad last year?

Where's that WR you had that can be productive on 3rd downs & 3 WR sets? :p:

I dont understand why? He is done.
Like I said... if he's done, we will see that in his workout.

If he is not done, he can make our team better.
We brought in peerless price too, how did that work out.
Yep, crazy as it seems, free agent signings don't have a 100% success rate. So do you suggest we never sign or trade for a WR again?

Price was 28 when we signed him. What's the implied connection between him and Joe Horn?
We just dont need to add a guy with age and his lousy attitude. He should not be allowed anywhere near the facility.
Sounds like the anti-T.O. arguments back in '06. ;)

Obviously I'm being a smart***... Horn couldn't possibly make an impact anywhere near T.O.'s level. But if we did bring Horn in for a workout, and Jason Garrett/Ray Sherman like what they see from him, he might be worth a shot.
I imagine they know all they need to know about him. They could just talk with Sean with the Saints.
You might be right.

But I do know that Ray Sherman knows WRs better than just about anyone. I'd trust his judgment over Payton's.

See the bold.

In 2006, he was on pace for a 1000+ yard season and was averaging 18.4 yards/catch with the Saints, before getting hurt.

I don't know what (if anything) Horn has left in the tank, but I find it humorous that almost everyone here is SO sure he's completely finished when he's less than 2 years removed from having a very significant impact for a great passing team.

Like I said... a workout couldn't hurt.

It doesn't hurt to bring him in for a workout. The only ones strongly opposed to that are the homers who have developed a man-crush on Stanback, Amendola, or the like.

Horn might be done, but we could at least find out up close for ourselves before completely writing off the idea.
Right, we are not in a Rebuilding mode, we are trying to win the SB right now!.

Cowboys not interested in Joe Horn

The Dallas Cowboys are not interested in veteran wide receiver Joe Horn, who was released by the Atlanta Falcons today.

Owner Jerry Jones said today that the Cowboys didn't have any interest in Joe Horn before and don't now.

He may not have anything left in the tank, but based on that assumption he's not worth a harmless workout? Like someone here said, the year before last, he was having a great year. Last year he wasn't great, but I don't think he was very happy and look at his QBs. He won't be significantly better than then, but it would be nice to have a vet in there. We are NOT in a rebuilding mode, right now we could very easily make the super bowl, and WR is probably are biggest weakness. Sure, we need a guy to take over for TO soon, but do you think that is really realistic? You think we will be getting a Boldin or Williams before the season starts? Horn wants the vet minimum and he might be here for about a year, hes not going to stop us from getting anyone and could help a bit.

Theres my opinion on it

I know, let's hold open tryouts for every old receiver that you can recognize their name. Come on in Troy Brown, Eddie Kennison, Keenan McCardell, Eric Moulds, Peerless Price and James McKnight for that matter, we may just have a spot for you.

about bring in players that appear to be done.

Remember..Hunter was signed by the Seahawks at CB mere days before our playoff game against them and he had a very solid game against us and was a big part in their winning.

Neither TG nor Witten nor TO were able to make him pay.

And I think Hunter was working in a ladies shoe deptment in Target or something before he got the call, hadn't played in months.

I'd definitely bring him in for a tryout. Remember, we have Romo.

He can get the ball to your Aunt Louise in Gary, Indiana if needed.
