Video: Joe Milton - All-22 Film Review

The Dallas Cowboys traded for Joe Milton, who has huge potential, lets break down his tape together. I think he is better than any QB we would have gotten on Day 3, and with him being 26 years old - he is mature enough to grow into our QB2.

Let's not forget Dak's injury history. I know Bob commented on 3 players in the last decade including Dak, Purdy and Cousins who have made starters as Day 3 picks. Dak's whole career has come from backing up and winning a starting spot via injury. Romo was an UDFA - this kid has a rocket arm and just needs some better decision making.

Something to remember about Milton's performance against the Bills is that while he completed 22 of 29 for 241 and a TD, the play that they show at the start of this video (a TD pass after he escaped pressure) is not included in those numbers because of a New England penalty on the play.

I think that one play breaks down who he is exactly as a player. Zach Wolchuk said it on the fan yesterday - he is Romo esque - thought he could compete for QB1 and they did not want another situation behind Drake Maye that would lead to what happened with Baile Zappe

Very true…but if one drives a Kia like a Ferrari…the wheels will fall off and the engine blown in no time…crash and burn.
When you're thinking logically - a Kia Soul gets you from point A to point B.

If you have a Ferrari and you don't have the parts to make it run at full speed - what is the point. Here is your analogy with a 60M QB who can do it by himself versus a Rookie Contract.

I'm not into speculation. I'm sure the Patriots had their reasons for being willing to trade him for basically what they paid to get him, but I don't think it was because they were concerned about a QB controversy.

Romo worked hard to become the QB he was. Hope Milton does the same.
