I still can´t figure this out.
Schotty at the press conference: "When Joe informed me he is coming back, I was elated. This is a guy that has worked his butt off, the way he has developed. The talent is so rare. We were thrilled to get him back. Totally surprised he didn´t get picked up."
Why cut him and risk that he is getting claimed by another team? We are not talking about a safety, tight end etc. This is the most important position on your team. Philly still has 4 QBs on their 53 and probably no backup is considered to be a rare talent.
By cutting Joe Milton you have erased his contract for 2027 at the minimum for 4year players and therefore there´s no guarantee you are able to develop him next offseason.
And then you have your 60 million QB that has not yet proven to win big in the playoffs. And every other year he has a down year where he either gets injured and/or doesn´t play great (see 2020, 2022, 2024). We all hope he takes us to at least the championship game this year, but are you certain he can get us over the hump?
