Joe Milton's College Highlights

I like the kid. Like that I have heard a couple people say drake maye was a little intimidated by having him on the roster.

Fake news, there is no possibility that the 3rd overall pick in 2024 draft has concerns that Milton is any threat to him.

They moved Milton as fast as they could though, Drake may have a sensitivity that needs zero pressure from depth QBs on that roster.

They invested heavily in Drake becoming their franchise QB and they didn't need Milton possibly stirring up any of a threat and wanted him gone.

NE had a lot of respect for Milton, and Milton had said that Dallas was a favored destination, and I believe that NE decided to talk with Dallas and saw a career opportunity possibly opening soon, Milton knows that, he didn't want to spend the rest of his career buried on the QB depth chart with limited opportunities.

He may be a total bust, but he will at the very least get to see some playing time.

That’s the scenario I would like unless Milton completely tears it up in the preseason. As of right now I see Milton as being QB2 cuz the only competition it Grier. I would not be happy going into the season with our current QB room. But with our current QB room he’s our #2 and we got him for free. I like Milton as QB2 over Lance, Rush or Grier. Ideally I’d like Milton in the QB3 developmental position for 25. Unless he gives the coaches a reason to think differently in the preseason.

With Dak coming off a serious injury it’s crucial we have a competent backup. Milton would clearly have to outperform his competition in camp to be trusted with the backup job. Most thought Lance would beat out Rush last summer and that didn’t happen. Before you get too giddy over Milton you might want to wait until we see him perform this summer. He would have a tough time beating out someone like Joe Flacco who’s still a free agent.

Recent history suggests that Milton will see his starts this season.

Not unless he wins the backup job and Dak gets injured. Fans have already handed Milton the backup job.

With Dak coming off a serious injury it’s crucial we have a competent backup. Milton would clearly have to outperform his competition in camp to be trusted with the backup job. Most thought Lance would beat out Rush last summer and that didn’t happen. Before you get too giddy over Milton you might want to wait until we see him perform this summer. He would have a tough time beating out someone like Joe Flacco who’s still a free agent.

Well obviously I want to see what he does in the preseason. As far as being giddy about him why would you care? I’m a Cowboys fan and he’s a Cowboys player. Why can’t I be excited about one of our players? Why can’t I hope for the best with one of our players? That’s just weird to me that another fan is trying to discourage me from being excited about a Cowboys prospect.

But anyway as far as beating out someone like Joe Flacco. I completely agree. I would like Flacco on the team. I feel pretty strongly about context of the season when it comes to who plays if Dak goes down. If we are in the middle of a playoff/division race and Dak misses a half or is out 2 weeks then I want Flacco (or a vet like him) to play. If it’s week 13 and we are eliminated from the playoffs and Dak breaks his thumb or gets a high ankle sprain then I want Milton in.

So I’m hoping we sign someone like Flacco, or specifically Flacco. But depending on the context of the season I want either Milton to play or Flacco. I felt like we wasted last season when Dak went down and we were eliminated from the playoffs and still played Rush. At that point you go with Lance. Unless they purposefully kept Lance off the field to drive his market down.

It doesn’t matter to me if you or anyone else is giddy over Milton. I’m sure you were excited about Lance when we traded for him. We’ll see how Milton performs this summer.
