Not surprised. I didn't get the preseason hype for them. They added Suh but still thought they were just an average team.

I'll admit that I was fooled. I thought they had put together a talented team and expected them to make the playoffs.

And while I think the team's problems go beyond the head coach, he brought nothing to the table that would fix anything either.

I always thought he was doomed when on Hard Knocks he simply made sure to get rid of any players that questioned him. They weren't questioning his authority, but merely going to the coach and telling them that since he's new to the team, that it was some little things that the players could handle themselves. Philbin would either cut the player right there or agree with the player and then cut him down the road.

I think the Incognito matters didn't help much. What was stunning was how all of the rest of the players stood up for Incognito and not Martin because it was readily apparent that the coaching staff asked Incognito to act the way he did to Martin to 'toughen him up.' Then when things went down, Philbin played the babe in the woods routine and I can't imagine that endeared himself to the players.

Plus, Suh does not fit a 3-4.

Good to see Campbell get his opportunity. I always liked the guy.

Thank the powers that be, he was a terrible coach. That team has played like hot garbage in the first half of every game this season, then they frantically scramble to try and catch up. He completely lost the team.

he should have been out as soon as it was shown that he had no idea what was going on in the locker room during the incognito mess. A coach that out of touch needs to be gone right away.

They may only be an average team, but Philbin had them playing worse than average.

The next 2 weeks they plan TEN and HOU. Perhaps with a change at the top they can sneak in a W or two. I wonder if ownership looked at that before pulling the plug on Philbin.

Those quotes about Tannehill shows how pathetic Philbin was.

Telling practice sqaud players to go easy on his QB?
L O Bleeping L

A story that Former player Ron Wolfy tells is that Nick Saban (then the DC with the Browns) came to him and ask Wolf to take it easy on his guys. Ron Wolfy responded with a big F you. Saban never pressed the issue with Belichick (HC at the time) knowing that he was in the wrong

Tannehill is a bust....I guess Shanahan is going to need to alter his list of excuses why things would've worked out in DC if he had his way.

I read they were playing a 2 gap defense, probably similar to what Parcells was running here. That wasn't taking advantage of Suh's ability to disrupt or any of the defense for that matter. Why would one simply have Suh wait on which gap to go based on the offense?

Campbell is already pushing for more aggression up front.
