joe theisman.....

unless Dallas is playing I watch Rome so I don't have to listen to the 3 Stooges

I dont think anyone is defending Joey T here. I cant stand the guy as a commentator.

Irvin has been critical on several occations when talking Cowboys. As for Moose the only time I can recall him referring to "we" when talking Cowboys is when he is talking about something they did in the past when Moose was part of "we"

funny seeing you here.

Nope, Moose says it whenever covering a Dallas sunday game on Fox.

They'll be coming back from the half and he'll say something like "We didn't move the ball well in the 2nd quarter, but Parcells most likely fixed that during the half"

Either you have real selective memory or I guess none of the cowboys fans recall Moose saying that. Now I wont discount he might have said that on an occasion.

But I have heard all of Moose's broadcasts of Cowboys and only time I recall him saying "We" is when asked about his playing time or recalling his playing times or atleast in consistant basis when he says "We" regarding cowboys that is. In fact I think he and Aikman seem like they go out of the way to be unbiased, although Aikman lot more than Moose. Aikman seems like doesn't even call it like it is sometimes when it comes to Cowboys in fear of appearing biased, i.e. like ref calls etc., but thats not that important.

Now Irvin, I would totally agree he does or act like homer. Although his U-homerism is more prevalent than Cowboys homerism. Either way he doesn't even try to hide that.

Now Theismann, I dont really have an issue with his homerism as much as I get annoyed with his lack of any freaking insight other than the obvious or every freaking player is the greatest according to him. I guess I hate the whole ESPN crew for Sunday night.

LOL, yeah he does do that.

When is Theisman's B-Day. Remember the game where we sang him happy B-Day...lol

I believe it is September 9th and the game was played on that day in 1985. I should know, it was the day I was due to be born, but I held out until (Friday) the 13th.

i noticed last night one of the other commentators mentioned lavar arrington was playing similiar to another famous number 56,and theisman said NOTHING.

You are such a Skins homer. You do realize this right?

:D

Theisman has got to be the worst announcer out there. I sincerely doubt that anyone past, present or future could be worse. They would do the football world a favor if they would strap one of those "s&m strap on gagging ball devise thingies" (or whatever they are called-lol)on his mouth during games. LOL It would be so much more pleasant to listen to a game without hearing his drivel and homerism. (This post was meant to be humerous).

How bad is your announcing team when Paul Maguire is the least biased? Mike Patrick had his Commander pom poms out all night, every bit as much as Joe T. Brutal.

I liked it better last year when Pat Summerall was subbing for that Maguire guy. Summerall is way old school. He can analyze the game way better than his former partner, that fool John Madden. And when Theisman and the other idiot got the play by play wrong, Summerall had to come in and correct them. Especially Theisman.

I'll put Theismann in second to Paul Maguire for the worst ones ever.

about 1% as annoying as Moose who still says "we" when talking about Dallas.

He's the very face of unprofessional.
Daryl Johnston may slip and say "we" when talking about the Cowboys but he does not hype everything about the team while simultaneously downplaying every good point about the other team the way Theisman does. For the most part he is well spoken and very professional even when doing Cowboys games. What really detracts from his broadcast team is the flatulent drivel coming from Tony Saragusa...that guy is a clown.

There is a certain radio host out here on the left coast who was campaigning to have the Sunday night crew moved to Monday nights when they make the change. Thank goodness that didn't happen.

The Commanders are going to be unwatchable on Monday nights next year. Michaels is probably a bigger 'skins homer than Thiesman, he just a hell of a lot smarter, and therefor, more subtle.

Do you remember the first game last year, where Michaels would not shut up about Terry Glenn touching Walt Harris AFTER Harris had already committed the PI by running in front of Glenn, but no mention at all of Gardner committing offensive pass interference on the last play of the game? "And for want of a timeout!" What kind of BS is that?

Yeah - that or Dick Stockton repeatedly saying "Scott" Brunell as Moose continuously tries to drop "Mark" into the conversation - classic.

I hate the Sunday night announcers. Here's a pretty spot-on spoof on them, from http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/051202
Q: Wouldn't it be pretty funny to hear ESPN's "Sunday Night Football" crew give a eulogy?
-- Alex, Syosset, NY

SG: Actually, I was hoping for a Pat Morita tribute during the Saints-Jets game...

Patrick: Guys, we'd be remiss if we didn't say good-bye to one of the great, great actors of our generation, Pat Morita -- what an actor this guy was! Just a great, great, great actor.

Theismann: Mike, when we talked to John Avildsen, the director of "The Karate Kid," he told us that Pat Morita was one of the greatest actors he ever worked with. I mean, here's a guy who was simply robbed for the 1984 Best Supporting Actor by Dr. Haing S. Ngor.

Maguire: I'm gonna tell you what a great actor this guy was. Watch this clip from the first "Karate Kid" when he saves Daniel-San on Halloween ... watch him jump this fence and take out the Cobra Kai -- here it comes, here it comes, WHAM! BAM! Right there! And look at his feet! See his feet moving! Is this guy something? You think this guy doesn't know karate?

Patrick: What a scene for Pat Morita! HOLY COW!

Theismann: And guys, when we talked to Jimmy Franklin, the head writer for "Happy Days" back in 1977, he told us that Pat Morita was the easiest guy he has ever written for -- and this is a guy who wrote for Pat Schneider, Vic Tayback, Conrad Bain and pretty much every great sitcom actor from that decade. No one can do the crane like Pat. Mr. Miyagi, we'll miss you!

Maguire: And Joe, you want to talk about a guy who could steal a scene? This guy could steal scenes. He'd steal 'em right out of thin air! And you know the thing about Pat Morita -- when he belted out a line like "wax on, wax off," I'm gonna tell you somethin' right now: You believed him. You waxed on, and you waxed off.

Theismann: I'm not so sure he wasn't the greatest character actor of all-time.

Patrick: What a great, great actor and what a huge, huge loss -- you cannot say enough about it. So long, Pat Morita.
